would you be worried?

Hi, i've been measuring my belly circumference and i've noticed over the past 3 weeks, the number hasn't gone up. i'm worried because my babies are measuring small (3lb14oz and 4lb8oz at 33w).

trust me, i've gained weight (last check 55lbs) and continue to, but i can't figure out why my belly isn't growing.

my doc said they're small, but she isn't too worried and has scheduled another EFW US for 36w and and induction for 38w.

would any of you be worried?

 

:hug:'s momma. I'm sorry you are worried. I would say not to worry if your doctor isn't, but I know as a mom, it's hard not to. :hug: I guess you are going to have to go with what your doctor is saying and just have trust in that if there was anything to worry about he would have brought it up to you. Hang in there, I hope they start growing soon. Could you go see another doctor in the practice?

I agree with Liz, if your Dr. isn't worried or concerned then I am sure that everything is going as planned :hug:
I don't remember getting too much bigger in my last few weeks either? I think my body was maxed out!! :lol:

 

You're talking measuring around your belly about at belly button level right??

I'm guessing that the babies are growing upward (moving your uterus up into your ribcage) rather than outward now, and that your uterus is probably still growing but you aren't growing out.

I also wouldn't worry if your dr isn't worried, your uterine measurements are more accurate than around measurements, which is why that's what dr's measure :hug: It's hard not to worry tho so if you are still concerned I wouldn't hesitate to call and ask again!

 

:hug: I know exactly how you feel. At 32w 5d my babies were only measuring 3lb 4oz and 3lb 15oz (I too have gained plenty of weight, 50lbs!) I have growth ultrasounds done every two weeks to check on their growth. I can't help but worry because they are so little. Like the PP say I wouldn't worry too much if your doctor isn't worried, but sometimes we just can't help it! My MFM has continuously reassured me that everything is okay, and to keep in mind that the average woman is not made to carry more than 10lbs of baby. Therefore, many women with twins will see a huge decrease in growth during the last trimester and especially after week 32. Have your babies measured small the entire pregnancy or did the growth just recently taper off? I've also been told that it is in the third trimester that genetics start playing more of a role in their growth. If you continue to worry it never hurts to ask to have a BPP done. I have them done weekly, and they are extremely comforting, because they let me know that my babies may be small, but they are healthy. Good luck.
