Seriously, am I crazy??? They LOVE it... but unfortunately there are balls all over the place! Now it takes them 30 seconds to make a mess of a living room instead of the usual 5 minutes.

Ok, this gave me HUGE laugh! Sorry, I don't mean to laugh at your frustation (well, not a lot anyway!). But the image of plastic balls ALL OVER just made me giggle!
I totally feel your pain, every time someone gives my boys a gift, it always seems to have a MILLION pieces - block sets, shape sorters with tons of shapes, wooden puzzles with 10 animal shapes per puzzle.
My living room constantly looks like a tornado hit it! I joke to my friends that I need to invent "The Toy Rake", it would be a full size rake with blunt points so it doesn't catch on the carpet. That way I could rake all the toy pieces to one end of the room and the kids could have a ball throwing it all over the place again!

Oooo I love the toy rake idea :D

And yes, sometimes it makes you wonder if all those toys with pieces are even worth it considering that they'll probably never associate the toy with the right pieces out of the 10000s toy pieces on the floor...

    Toy wrake :)

I'd buy that product. Maybe the toy sucker or vacuum could work.

Honestly, we don't even have many toys. Our friends don't even let their poor daughter play with toys for this reason. They were in awe of how many toys we have--which is not many at all for two kids.

hey, teach them how to pick everything back up and put it in the pen. if you make a game out of it, they'll probably go for it! my guys help me clean up all the time now cuz they try to do it "faster than mommy!" just a thought!

btw, which one did you buy?

Yeah I'm trying to get them to help clean up but they don't get it yet... can't wait for them to get it, lol.

I got this one, plus extra balls because I'm apparently masochistic. I was looking for a tent/tunnel and a ball pit so I liked that it does both.

Some balls came with our pop up tent and they are ALL over the place too. I think it was only 25 or something but they drive me crazy! I can't imagine what you are going through!

Too funny! My kids make a huge mess out of the newspaper if they get a hold of it and our house looks like a toy war zone. I am too afraid buy them a ball pit!

:rotflmbo: 100 extra balls? Oh no!! I'll probaby end up doing the same thing because it does look like tons of fun...for them...and I'm a total sucker! I wonder if my hippo "vacuum" would fit the balls into it's mouth. It actually picks up a few toys when they push it around ;)

 Sometimes the 20 minutes of peace are worth the 30 minutes of clean up!

I bought a ball pit thing too. I could only take about a week of it and it's packed up in the closet. I could not stand all the balls everywhere in my livingroom.

I agree that sometimes the mess is worth the quiet and fun. I bought an inflatable kiddie pool and about 200 balls. They love it. There are some days like today that they really don't use it anymore. I would rather clean up all the balls though than have them trying to find somthing else to get into. Have fun and gl.

    HI :wavey: ,

My boys have the same ball pit as the one posted (one step ahead), and I got extra balls (cheaper) at target… I found the secret that worked for me :spy: … you put it in a corner so only one way in and out (the wall will block balls coming out one end) and then you take a blanket (I used the ‘comforter’ that came w/ the crib sheets and bumpers I never used) and you roll it up (like a long tube) tuck it under the door that is open and it makes a lip so only a couple balls come in and out when baby A or B goes in and out… does this make sense? Should I post a pic? I hope it works for you … my dudes are in this thing EVER day… they got it when they were only 8m old… and every kid 5 and under is drawn to it...

OH I feel your pain, I have HW floor and they roll all over the place (and for some reason, under things <_< )

Yeah unfortunately mine are just pushing it all over... and by that, I mean rotating it all over... so the opening gets on the bottom sometimes... you can imagine! I should have guessed though, those kids just knock things down all the time.

We had an inflatable ball pit but someone bit both rings of it. Now we throw them in the pack n play. Even that doesn't help, they stand in there and throw all the balls out. I have balls under every piece of furniture and in the floor in every room. They love it though.

Ha ha! We have the same problem. We have one that's like an inflatable pool and the girls will sometimes dump the whole thing over. It drives us crazy but it is cute to see them working together. And we also got extra balls. DH bought 200 of them! :shok: One day DH was alone with them and they dumped it 4 times in one hour. He posted it on Craig's List, and a lady was going to come get it, but she never showed so we put it back in the play area and they have played so nicely with it since then. I'm sure it's just a matter of time though...
