UHHH! It just took one second. I was putting Sophie down and I turned around and she rolled right off the couch. Luckily it's carpeted on the floor and it only took a minute or two to calm her down - but that's the WORST feeling in the entire world. I won't be putting them on the couch anymore.

This happened with one of my twins about a month ago. I was so embarrased I never told anyone because I knew they would only make me feel worse. I just made sure to watch her for the rest of the day.

Unfortunately it happens and probably more so when you're trying to watch more than 1 kid! I'm so glad neither of our girls got hurt.

I just posted a VERY similar post maybe a couple weeks ago- was holding B, when J got fussy, laid him on the bed (in what I THOUGHT was a "safe" position) turned around w/ J and B fell off! :( :umm: What was I thinking!?!?!

So like the PP said--it happens to everyone. Kids really are pretty resiliant. I think that's why babies are so fat! They've got to bounce every now and then! ;)

this hasn't happened to me, but i'm glad you posted it as i am beginning to realize how QUICKLY it can happen. i often put one in a boppy on the couch while wearing another in a sling while i'm doing things around the house. i don't think i'll be doing that anymore...
btw- love your names- they are similar to mine (lily and sofi)

I'm another one this has happened to. I had Cam & Evan on my bed with me and they were crawling around. I saw Evan heading for the edge and I couldn't get my arm to react quick enough to grab him. He flipped over the edge. He wasn't hurt, just scared. It happens to all of us at one time or another.

Awww...it DOES happen. And, sort of along the lines of a previous poster, I think this is one reason why babies' bones don't harden very early on. They have lots of cartilage, which makes them flexible! Thank goodness! I haven't had anyone fall off of anything, but when the girls were 2 months old I was bathing one of them when my 3 year old came walking across the kitchen floor carrying the other one! My first instinct was to grab her out of my daughter's arms and carry her to safety. The minute I set her down I realized I had left the other one in the bathtub!! Talk about feeling like a horrible mom. It's soooo different with TWO!

Yep, happened here twice. It makes you feel so bad, but it happens and they are just fine. :hug99:

The other day I had my boys on their playmat propped up on my long body pillow. We play like this every day. Well I went to thh restroom because "they can't fall off the floor", right?. WRONG! I guess now that Braxton's abs are getting stronger, he pulled himself forward...WAY forward and onto the wooden floors. When I came out I saw him there helpless and screaming. His little eye was red but just a tiny bit. I picked him up and put some ice in a towel to put on him so it wouldn't swell and started nursing him and his brother while applying the ice. Well, this just so happened to be the day my husband comes home from work early. As soon as I hear the garage come up I stuff all three pieces of ice in my mouth and hide the towel behind the couch. I've never chewed so fast in my life! I ended up telling him anyway, but I just didn't want to talk about it until I knew he wasn't going to have a huge knot on his noggin. So, I too know how you feel...it's horrible! :hug99:

the concept is not funny but the image is *giggle*....I had my son roll off the couch at that age too - I dozed off on one end of the couch, he was on the other end on the chase lounge napping and the next thing I know I hear the thump and the scream!
