Yesterday was the worst day my babies have ever had. Ever. It was terrible, horrible! One or both of the babies fussed ALL DAY LONG. I couldn't get anything done, no exercise, no laundry, no shower, nothing. One of the two of them constantly needed to be held. I barely had time for myself to eat, I had to gobble down whatever I could grab around lunch time and that was it. They were so ravenous/exhausted/fussy every time they ate that it was like they couldn't make up their mind what to do. So they would scream to eat and then fall asleep in the middle of the feeding and not take the whole bottle, and then spit up half of it and scream again. All day long. I was about to have a nervous breakdown by 4 pm. Finally at 6 pm my mom came over and I broke down crying. Of course by the time she got here the babies had just finished their 6:00 bottle and were sleeping like two angels in their crib. It was the first time they had let me put them down all day, of course! So it looked like I was a big liar! After she came over I at least got a break for a few hours and took a long hot shower and was able to compose myself again, because by 8:00 they were both screaming again. My mom stayed here and helped me, we each fed one baby and then put them down for bed and it went a lot smoother when I was only feeding one baby and had someone to feed the 2nd baby.

So then things started to look up: BOTH BABIES ONLY WOKE UP ONE TIME LAST NIGHT!!!! :a_smil09: :icon_biggrin:
And within 15 minutes of each other! :yahoo:
So I got 7 hours of sleep last night!!!!!! Their last feeding was at 8:30 and then they didn't wake up until 1:30 am and then slept until 5 am!!!!! My faith has been restored in my babies by this time and I'm once again thinking that my babies are the sweetest babies!
They knew they gave me such a hard time last night that I needed some relief!

I hope today goes better than yesterday did though, I don't think I could survive two days in a row like that.

Congrats on 7 hours of sleep, but I'm sorry yesterday was so rough. You are in the thick of the fussy stage, but I promise it gets better. They might be going thru a growth spurt which would explain why they are so hungry and sleepy. GL and I hope today is better (but at least you had some nice sleep so you can handle whatever comes your way). -leighann

Awwww, you poor girl! :hug99: Those days seem like yesterday to me...it is so tough in the beginning. Things will be so much easier before you know it, and you will have many long nights of sleep!!

I call those days "the storm before the calm". It's likely you'll have one or two more days in their early months like that, but just remember what happens after. Those were my "just hang in there" mantra days....

Wow -- I could have written your post a few days ago! That was one of the worst days ever! I cried &/or screamed much of the day and then called my mom bawling my eyes out! It was awful.... Glad to hear you some relief that night! EVerything looks a little better after a few hours (in a row) of sleep!

When I started reading your post I thought, "I bet her babies are between 6-8 weeks, and sure enough they are. That was the worst few weeks ever! It will pass! It's amazing what a nice shower can do to lift your spirits though!
