I had all three boys in the tub tonight and my Luke just won't sit down. It was so stressful because I'm worried that he's going to slip and fall. I sit him down, he stands right up and this just keeps going. I can barely wash the others but I'm so busy with him. Ugh - just needed to vent.

 My Amelia stands up when I wash her hair. She doesn't like the water in her face, so when I wash her hair she stands up. I sit her down a couple of times but if she continues then I get her out of the tub. She loves to take a bath, but I can't tolerate her standing up - it's dangerous, so if she stands she has to get out. (Not that she makes the correlation between standing and getting out but I really have no other choice)

Yep, been there. Just stay consistent about not letting him stand and he will get it! It is absolutely maddening.

Rachel is right! Sophia stands in the tub all of the time. Because DH and I are paranoid, we bath the babies together so one of us can focus on the "stander". We hope for bath time to tire the babies out but then it turns out we are the ones exhausted afterwards!!!

If it's a water in the face issue, get a cheap all plastic tennis visor (I think they even make kids bath visors) or use my Granny's old trick of letting us hold a folded washcloth over our eyes. Worked a treat with Owen-he would FREAK when he got water in his face. Took me ages to get him to learn to swim!

Another suggestion is, since your twins are still fairly little, can you or DH get into the shower with them one at at time? Owen hated the water from a cup pouring over his head, but he didn't mind the shower spray, because he could control when he stepped out from under it. My XH used to take Owen into the shower and I would be on standby to take him out and dry him wile XH finished his shower. By the time he was 2.5 or 3, I was standing him in the shower with the handheld shower head, letting him "do it himself" even though I stood right in the open shower door and got a little wet myself. He loved the independence of it, so maybe that would help with your older munchkin!

Baths are tiring and hard on the back! Good luck!

I remember those days. They are exhausting, my b/g twins are 3 yrs so it is a lot easier now. They take showers and love it. Still time consuming though.
My ds liked to stand up also, I must have sat him down seemed like a hundred times during his bath.

Both of ours are standers. I can't give them a bath at the same time by myself right now. They crawl over and around each other from end to end. They pull up on the soap dish and the faucet. They like to hang toys over the side. It is non-stop movement until we get them out of there. So far DH has been home and we each bathe one at the same time. He has a business trip next week though and I guess I'll be glad I still have the exersaucer because I just don't think I can do it alone! It's absolute madness and I'm more worn out from that 15-20 minutes than from the rest of the day.

Really? They just seem to think it's a game. We were joking that it was like the wak a mole game. You sit them down they pop back up.
