I was just curious if anyone has words yet. Mine are saying a few things "da" for dog, "ba" for ball and "uh-oh" for almost everything  . I got a little concerned because L was saying "up" all the time and putting her hands up to be picked up. She said it as clear as day over and over. That lasted a few weeks and now she won't say it at all. Is it normal to loose words? They say dada, but not about their dad. They doo seem to recognize that I am mama and DH is dada. We will say "where is dada" and they will look right at him, but they don't say it yet. I'm just being a worry wart and wanted to see if anyone else is in the same boat.

It's normal for them to forget, especially as they're learning a new skill. Once they start walking, it may stop altogether for a while.

Both of the boys say "uh-oh" a lot. In fact, it's raining right now and all three little ones keep saying it over and over again. Reese says "hi there" and they both say "hi" and "hat." They will wave too. I think they know who mama and daddy are, but the "dadadada" is just babbling at this point.

All four of our boys seem to talk fairly early. But, only our oldest held on to it. He was talking in full sentences (and clearly) when he was barely two. He seems to be the exception though, because our 23 month old hardly talks at all. He was doing the same things Reese & Riley are now at that age, and then when he learned how to walk, he lost it. I'm pretty sure the twins will do the same thing. It's normal and natural, but still frustrating.

My boys are much older and don't say any more words than yours. About losing words, I think it's totally normal. Caleb used to point at everything and say "that". One day he woke up and decided it would be much cooler to point to everything and say what sounded a lot like "sh*t". Not at all embarassing for mommy, right  . Then a few weeks later he forgot all about that word and began referring to everything as "toit". Now he says "toe-da" for everything (still trying to decipher those last two). I think they just find new things to say or do and sort of store the old ones in the back somewhere until they like it again. Sounds like they're right on track!

AJ says mama, but only when he's upset! My DD said mama at six months, but then dropped that and started saying nay-nay, which meant both me and nursing! She didn't add any new words, though, until the week after she turned one... then she added ball, what's that, and kitty-cat.

Mine say "mama" all the time!! And "dada" too, when they see him. And I think they've started saying "da" for "dog" - they LOVE LOVE LOVE the dogs, but I'm not sure if that's just my imagination about knowing to say "da". I'll have to give it a few days.

Ian says mama & Hi he also signs More and Hello... Ethan is not saying words we understand, but he certainly does talk!!! Communication is such a cool thing! I love watching the process.

the girls say mama and dada and "ba ba" for "bye bye" and they say the serbian word for grandmother (there are two words, they say both), and today ivana said the serbian word for "eye" and "grandfather" (they're all short 2 syllable words). ivana says "na na" for no-no (she's hears it enough, trust me)
and they say things to each other in their own little baby language :D

oh yeah, and they say "kaka" a lot lol

We're a bit older and say a few words here, not sure where they get it :FIFblush:
They say, "juice", "cheese" and "please" which sound the same..."dog", "ball", "that", "ni-ni", "uh-oh", "ouch", "da-da", "ba-ba", "baby", "dis" for this, "moo", "quack", "duck","it down" for sit down, "ma-ma", and we also make the elephant noises, replicate the "kitty-kitty", and Ella says "tickle-tickle"...and her name, too! But they definitely go in stages. Sometimes they won't say certain words for weeks and/or months..it's weird, but I think pretty normal.
