my girls are getting hot & sweaty at night now (we live in the deep south) and are easily busting out of their swaddling blankets (we've just been putting the in onsies beneath the receiving blanket). I was looking at both the cotton Kiddopotamus SwaddleMe or Woombie. Any experience or preference or something else you used that worked? THANKS!!!

I just used a plain thin receiving blanket. I could get those much tighter than any of the special swaddle blankets.

We used the Swaddle Me's and had great success with them, mine were FL winter babies. I am not too sure I would use them in the summer??

I used both, although the woombie not as much... but what I really liked was the Halo Sleepsack with the swaddle attachment. I had my girls during the winter and the sleepsacks were fleece, but I think they have cotton versions.

We only used the Kiddopotamous brand, but we liked it. We live in FL so I understand the heat issue. I would just put them in a onesie and a swaddler and make sure the fan is on at a comfortable level. Right now my girls sleep with the fan on low and in a t-shirt and pants and they never wake up b/c of temperature.

We have used the Halo Sleep Sack with Swaddle attachment, Kiddopotamus SwaddleMe and Woomies. We love all of them.

Right now we are using the Big Baby Woomies as the other swaddles were getting too small - and they are working great. We are getting 6 hours of sleep between feedings right now - and they are 3 months old actual age (7 weeks premature).

We live in California and the Woomies have been great for the few hot nights we have had so far this year. We just dress them in a onesie underneath.

I hear REALLY good things about the miracle blankets! We had Houdini's....so the swaddle me's worked when they were tiny...by 8 weeks we had some pretty crazy double swaddles going on and by 14 weeks I gave up and switched to sleep sacks (turns out they wanted to suck their thumbs anyway...YEAH for self soothing)! I wish I had invested in the miracle blankets from the beginning but by the time we discovered them we were moving out of that stage!

I have no experience with the woombies but we used the swaddle me's and then sleep sacks and loved them.

We LOVE the kiddopatumus brand - we had another brand from Babie R Us that was too stretchy - I think it is called the Swaddler. The Kiddopatumus has a nice big middle velcro that holds them tight. We started a Halo sleepsack in addition last week - also works great and comes in cotton - sometimes they wiggle it up by their cheeks though - even though we have the lower velcro loops attached. Our kids are wigglers so regular blankets are not an option. Heard good things about Miracle blankets but it is too late to invest in a $30 blanket.

I could never get the Swaddle Me tight enough. My kids get out of them in about 1 second! I LOVE the Miracle Blankets. LOVE LOVE LOVE them. It's our kiddie straight jackets (meant in the nicest way!). We have used the Woombie's some too, but I have found the miracle blanket seems to make them happier. I still go back to the Woombie now and then for my daughter, but my son is outgrowing his and I doubt I will buy the next size. The Miracle Blanket is one size so in that way I like it better.

I use the Miracle blankets. I think those are the hardest for them to break out of it is like a straight jacket. They are also one size. I'v tired the swaddle me and they broke right out of them. I guess it depends upon how agressive the child is while he is sleeping.

I googled the Miracle blankets since so many of you loved them...and it reminded me of the Ubber-Swaddle I had seen awhile back and forgotten about. So tried this receiving blanket and very light summer blanket. It kept her swaddled up all night long for the first time in weeks! Now, if we could just get over these colds to see if it helps her sleep better/longer!

Thanks for all your input! :D
