Woohoo! Day 1 of no bottles or formula

    Yahoooo!! We have gradually over the past week knocked out the 3 bottles and replaced them with sippy cups of whole milk. They are doing great with it, honestly they never really like formula/bottles anyways, they wanted steak and potatoes;) Anyways....tonight was night 1 of no bedtime bottle, I just gave them some milk and put them to bed...we'll see what time they wake up! They normally sleep 6p-7a...tonight they were out by 615p...wish us luck they sleep til at least 630!!!:)

    wow! what kind of sippy cups have you been using? mine have just started drinking more water out of their sippy cups i can't imagine them being ready to drop bottles for a while... how did you do this? how many solids are they eating?

    They like the Munchkin straw cups http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3532540 Solids they are eating 3 meals a day with 2 snacks...all table food. Prior to this they had 3 meals a day with 3 bottles a day and maybe 1 snack. Honestly they really like food more than bottles and formula and it was more of a chore for me to do bottles than make sure they get healthy high calorie foods that they actually like to eat:)

    we are at 3 meals a day and sometimes some snacks. my boy LOVES to eat! so he will probably do great before DD. i am looking forward to our shift to whole milk in the next month! thanks for the sippy tip... we have one that works okay, but they like to play with it and chew on it more than really drink out of it right now.

    How much milk do they drink in their straw cups? We use the Munchkin straw cups too and like them a lot.

    On a good day they drink prolly 1.5 cups...so about 14oz. They also eat lots of cheese and yogurt and cottage cheese to make up if they aren't having a "drinking" kind of day:)

    They slept from 615p-7a!!! Woohooo!! So no bottles and they still slept!! YAY!!!

    Glad things are going so well for you!!!
    my "bottle baby" dropped bottles cold turkey at 10 months and it was a super easy transition for us too! We liked the Nuby straw cups when they were first getting accustomed. Once they figured out the "tippy" cups we switched right over.
