Brett had his testing last Monday. He had an upper GI, an Ultrasound and a head CT. All those tests were normal. The doctor also did some blood work in which I haven't heard the results yet.

We are going to the hospital in the morning for an endoscopy. He will be put to sleep, I am so nervous.

This is all to figure out why he vomits once a month because I didn't feel that it was a stomach bug. It's been happening since last year this time...every month or two months.

Wierd.

The doctor is thinking that it could be either...
1.) Reflux
2.) Stomach Ulcer
3.) Celiac disease
4.) Something else.....

Good luck with your little boy. I so hope it passes smoothly.

I'm sure your pediatrician has considered everything, but I remember a couple of mothers discussing 'cyclic vomiting syndrome' on TS before. I'm sure it's not helpful, but thought I'd include a link just in case.

He did AWESOME today! They made it so less stressful for him. I got wheeled into the ER with him and held him against me while he breathed the mask and went to sleep. It was only a matter of 15-20 minutes and I was calling in again as he was waking up. I actually sat there for 15 minutes watching him sleep so peacefully before he woke up!

Well, we know what it is now....................

REFLUX!

A really bad, bad case of it. They just switched his medicine from 5ml to 15ml each time. he was on regular Prevacid for the last week and they changed it to Prevacid Solutabs.

 

I'm glad that it went well and that you were able to get some resolution. I hope the new meds work!

I am glad it all went well!!

One of my DDs is on Previciad Solutabs 15ml as well for severe reflux. She slowed down vomitting around age 2- but we still get it once in a while!

She's also had an upper GI, PH probe (3x), & endoscopy. It was harder on DH and I than her!

It is so nice to have answers isn;t it!! Hopes the Previcaid helps!

** if you go to Previcaid website or get samples from your Dr- there is a 25$ mail-in rebate and then you get a 20$ off each time you fill a script card** Our insurance does not pay for all of the script so it was pricey- wiht the discount card- it makes it 35$ a month- much better.

I'm glad you finally have an answer and that he did so well!!!!
We suffered with severe reflux too for awhile but eventually they grew out of it. Hang in there!!!

 

Glad to hear you got it figured out! I hope the new dosage does the trick!
