Wish us luck. Natalie has her combo surgery tomorrow morning for her umbilical hernia and strabismus - both eyes. We are getting nervous. It seemed like when she had tongue reduction sugery last year, we were so prepared and there was so much build up. My husband and I feel like tomorrow just crept up on us and we are getting really nervous.

We've been thru hospitals (Natalie was in the nicu for 6 weeks) and surgery before, I just hate seeing her in pain. I've been told with strabimus surgery, the kids eyes are pretty swollen and black and blue and that was just with one eye being done - she's having both eyes done. I know I have to put on my happy face when I go into the recovery when she's waking up - but its going to be so hard!!! As long as everything goes okay, tomorrow will just be outpatient and she'll be have pain for about 3 days. So good thing the weekend is ahead of us!

best wishes and good luck. we've had surgeries (pyloric stenosis for both girls)..... but both were emergency. the build up and anticipating must be stressful. but atleast you basically know what's coming. hoping for a quick and smooth recovery for Natalie! keep us posted when you have time.

    Hoping surgery goes well.

Just wanted to let you know that I had strabismus surgery when I was around 5 and I barely remember it! I remember a few parts of the hospital stay, but nothing of recovery. I apparently did have quite the shiner tho'. It's probably one of those things that looks worse than it is.

I'll be having my girls checked out here soon, I've noticed that their eyes definitely turn in when they're tired.

    GL!
