Wish us luck

DH and I have had plans now for 2 years to build a double decker fort with slide and swing. No kit, just our imagination and building skills, and some prayers.

We have plans, I am going to paint the walls which will be made from waffer board, to look like a real rough log cabin then attach it all to the 4X4 framing. The the awning will run down the entire length of the upper level I am going to take painters cloth and outdoor paint and make it look like leaves strung together on both sides...so it will kinda be a tree house, with out the trees. One door, one window and a crawl thru under the slide. We're going to do a tire swing, the kind that is horizontal with tri-pod chains, so more than one can swing on it.

Whole thing is going to be 4ft wide and 6ft long (not including slide and swing) and 8ft tall. I *think* with the two of us working on it we will get it done this weekend, which would be wonderful as DH starts going to our mountain property to work on our cabin most weekends all summer long and I can't take all 3 to the park alone. They Loooooove being outside.

I will post pictures on Monday no matter how far we get.

That sounds so COOL!!! I couldn't build a Fort even with a kit! I'm not very handy with tools!
