Wiping on their own..

Okay, I'm not sure if the regular 1-4 would be better for this since it's not about training persay.
DH thinks that the girls are old enough to start wiping their own bottoms. I say no way are they ready.
Probably he just doesn't want to do it anymore. I don't want dirty panties or rashes.
What do you think? At what age can a girl wipe her own bottom?

 

I say when they can do it well. I stopped wiping DD when it was pointless - she was also insistent that she had done a good job and she had. If you are unsure then I would still do it.

 

I usually check mine after they're done. It only takes a second, and that way if they miss something, I catch it.

 

We're still wiping here too, they don't do the best job, trying to teach but sometimes we just do. Of course at school they do it themselves.

That is what we do. Funny thing here is my non potty trained girls is a much better wiper then the potty trained one. Now if she would jsut give up the pull ups and stop having accidents in underwear.

 

I'm watching a little girl who will be 4 in August...she wipes herself for both poop and pee.

 

They wipe their own pee, but I wipe the poo.

 

I think I stopped wiping John's poop about 4... but I think you will know if they are ready or not. Good luck!

 

I would let them do it, and then check after them.

 

I always let my oldest daughter wipe herself, and then I checked to make sure she was clean until around 4.
