Kinda a silly comment - but it seems like we are going through a ton more wipes than we used to. I assume it is because we use them for everything - faces and hands after eating, boogy noses, etc. I could use a washcloth, but then I would just be doing more laundry and there is already a ton of that. Any other suggestions??

I wish I had some, the only other thing I can think of is paper towels but then you'll go through a lot of paper towels too  I am curious for some ideas myself.

I use either wash cloths or home made diaper wipes. There are lots of receipes out there but I cut a bounty roll in half and half a container it fits upright in. Then I add a tbs of babywash and tsp baby oil to a cup of water and poor it over. This works for us but I also cloth diaper so I don't mind doing the extra laundry

We use the cheaper wipes (like kroger brand) on hands and faces and save the good ones for butts; when they have colds we use boogie wipes or good wipes for noses.

I know you said you wouldn't really prefer this but I do use washcloths or cloth diapers that I used to use for burp cloths. I buy the 12 pack of washcloths for $3.99 at Target. I have 3 packs so I only wash them once a week or so. I put a small mesh laundry basket in my kitchen for them and I actually find it very convenient. Every once in a while one of them will get a little mildewy or gross but I let them dry before I throw them in with the other cloths so it doesn't usually happen - but if it does I just throw it away. Or you could just throw a dozen or so in with a load of towels, the cheap ones are small and pretty thin so they shouldn't make the load much bigger.

Tissues for noses, washcloths after we eat, and cheap wipes for butts. Target has the cheapest wipes I've found, and they aren't too bad.

I cloth diaper too... and had made diaper wipes from flannel for pretty cheap. When we started solid feeding more and such I made specific ones for hands/faces... I don't mind the extra laundry as I'm already washing bibs etc. I have a small plastic trash can in the kitchen for bibs/wipes/dish towels for laundry.

I LOVE that I hadn't had to buy paper towels in a LONG time! I love not spending more money, so for us it works.

No ideas here. We use washcloths for after meals & wipes for everything else, so it's still a lot!

I do washcloths after meals too. Mostly I don't like the idea of chemicals on their face so I try not to use wipes there.

We use washclothes after meals and wipes for butts. Wipes for hands while we are out too. My problem is that the kids WANT the wipes to clean things. Anytime I get wipes out they think they need one too.

I like this idea - think I will also use more wash cloths for messy faces and hands.

 Same here! They love them some wipes! Well, playing with them anyway [IMG]

ETA: We use washcloths after meals.. but sometimes we use wipes. Guess it depends on my mood. It does make us go through them faster. I actually prefer the Costco brand cause they're harder to rip apart :)
