Winter Wear

Discussion in 'The Toddler Years(1-3)' started by Abby&Maddy'sMom, Nov 12, 2008.

Last year I loved the girls LL Bean one piece fleece suits for the Winter. Now I am faced with two runners who love being outdoors.
Not sure if fleece will be enough or even big enough for them.

In addition, what to do about boots ? I want warm and waterproof, but is it really going to cost upwards of $50 a pair ???

I don't even know where to look.

    Help !!

    ;)

My girls wore snowsuits and boots just a few times last year. I got their boots at Marshall's for $12 per pair and my friend had purchased snow suits on clearance for us.

I put the girls in fleece jackets last year pretty much all winter unless we were going to be outside for a long time. I also kept a second jacket and a blanket in the car in case we broke down.

I have seen lots of winter stuff at Target (bib pants, boots) for very reasonable prices. Don't forget to check children's consignment shops also.

I got my boys' each a coat & snowpants set from ShopKo when they had a 50% off sale not too long ago. I also snagged a hat/mitten set for each of them at that time. ShopKo had a HUGE selection, whereas I notice most other places don't (well, most places have more for girls than boys). As for boots, Kohls is running a 50% off sale, but I think it's through today. They have free shipping on anything over $75, so I ordered my boys each a pair of boots & a pair of shoes in the next size up (that were on sale & put me to $75 for free shipping). I'm sure we'll use the boots MAYBE 2-3 times, but oh well. I can rationalize it better at $25 vs $50 a pair!

Good luck...my boys aren't a fan of their coats because they can't bend as easy, but they're getting used to them. I wish I could find a coat LESS heavy like the pp & just keep the heavy coats in the car for just in case or for outside play. Maybe I'll continue my hunt....

My mom got the girls winter coats, matching snow pants and boots from LL Bean. Pretty expensive but she works from them and got a great discount. Their stuff is always great quality and I can probably resell the stuff easily next winter.
