So we live in Southern California where it's ridiculously warm until at least Thanksgiving, but I'm thinking ahead. My babies will be 10 months by the time it gets cold here. I will have them wear fleece footed pjs for bed, but I'm afraid they will get cold in just that. Our house is around 68 degrees in the Winter.

Do you think they would be okay with a light blanket? (I'm not one to think blankets are dangerous).

    What about sleepsacks?

What about putting a onesie or T-shirt under the sleeper?

What did/will you do for winter sleepwear?

We live in southern Mexico, but in the mountains, and it does get cold over night (lower 40s or upper 30s in Jan.). Add to that the fact we have no heat in our house, it easily gets to the low 50s overnight inside our house. All babies around here use blankets and I've never heard of any babies dying of unusual circumstances in their sleep here either. (keep in mind most babies sleep with their parents so their parents are able to make sure their faces are not covered. Once my girls were too old for swaddling, they slept in sleep sacks or blanket sleepers with something on underneath. Always at least a onesie but on the coldest night I put a full cotton footed sleeper on under the sleep sack (and sometimes a onsie under that!) When they started sleeping in their own bed after a year, they used crochet baby blackets with a fairly open weave and slept together for added warmth.

I always put mine in fleece pajamas with feet & a light blanket and I had no problems at all. I know a lot of people swear by sleep sacks, the advantage being they can't squirm out from under them like they can a blanket.

We keep our house pretty chilly in the winter - we used long sleeve onesie, socks and fleece sleepers.

I use (and still use sleepsacks) and in the winter, I used the fleece ones with onesies underneath. I also used fleece footie pajamas as well. I would not see a problem with light blankets as well, my kids were not big blanket users this past winter.

They didn't have the sleepsacks when my girls were babies, so we just put them in a onesie and fleece footed pjs. We live in Southeast AK and although it is not near as cold as up north it still gets pretty cold here sometimes in the winter, they were fine. We also keep our house at around 68-70 in winter.

I still don't use blankets at 18 months... They love their sleep sack, it keeps them warm and they love going to sleep while sucking them. The only time DD managed to get out of hers, she threw it out of the crib then was crying hysterically... I can't even imagine how many times it would happen with blankets, plus they move so much that there is no way the blanket would stay on them... So, unnecessary risk as far as I'm concerned (not that it's a risk at 18 months but you get the idea).

We've had the cotton and fleece ones, but we have central air now so even during the Summer we used the fleece ones... then we just put onesies/cotton PJs/fleece PJs underneath depending on the weather. I don't think fleece PJs would be enough when it's 68 inside.
