What do you put your toddlers in to sleep during the winter? Last winter my girls slept in long sleeve/footie cotton pajamas with a fleece sleep sack. This year the only fleece sleep sacks I can find are Halo ones, and I'm not sure if I should get the X-Large size, which would totally fit, or if I should go with the Early Walker version that has holes for their feet.

Has anyone used the Early Walker sleep sacks? If not, did the regular sleep sacks work for your 18 month - 2 year old walkers?

If you don't use sleep sacks, what do your kids wear to sleep?

I'm not exactly who you're asking, but my guys can walk enough in their sleep sacks to wander around their bedroom. If they need to walk more than that, I just unzip them and let them wander around in their "ponchos" as my sister calls them. Sometimes they do have a little trouble standing up if they put their feet down in the wrong place, but they usually figure it out in a few minutes.

My guys are in a large and a medium right now, but I expect we'll be up to x-large and large before the winter's over.

We have the fleece footed pjs (some w/o feet) & some 2 piece long sleeved/pants pj sets. We just put socks on them & cover them up any time we check on them (as the covers never stay on). Our house doesn't get below 66-68 at night & my boys are used to that. I've never used a sleep sack.

I guess we keep the house fairly warm, b/c we've never needed to use those. When it starts getting cold, I like the Carter's footed sleepers - so cozy!

We are still using the regular Halo sleep sacks (no foot holes) in the 24-36m size. My girls are on the short side, but not extremely short, and those still fit fine at almost 36 months. They have also always been able to walk quite well in them. :D

When they do outgrow those, we'll probably move to the foot-hole sleep sacks in size 3T. That is, unless they suddenly stop moving around so much at night, so that I think they might actually stay under a blanket. The way they sleep now, I envision the blanket being kicked off within 20 minutes.

Under the sleep sacks, right now they wear anything from summer shortie PJs to heavy fleece footed sleepers, and they seem to sleep just fine no matter what they're wearing. But when it gets really cold out, we'll ditch the shortie PJs and just stick with either footed sleepers or long-sleeved 2-piece PJs.

I just called around to the stores to see who has the Halo sacks (I'm in Canada so it's not worth the hassle of having them shipped cross border from the company). I'm in the same position so I called the company to see if I should buy my very tall very skinny boys the 2t/3t version or the x-large early walkers and the early walkers won. I dont know why they are called early walkers. They are for the same height as the 2t/3t and for 25-40 pounds - barely early walkers in my books. My guys are too active in their cribs to do the bag sacks any more, they would fall on their faces and I'd also be concerned they would get frustrated. I'm not messing with my boys who can stay happy in their cribs for quite a while by restricting them and having them get frustrated and upset (happy boys make a happy mommy).

I'm picking them up this weekend. Their room gets quite cold at night and I'm checking on them constantly to see if they are too cold and that the blankets are on. I can't wait for the relief to have them in their sacks.

Mine wore fleece footed PJ's the last 2 winters, and this winter they have 2 piece fleece jammies with socks (one is potty trained, the other hopefully soon).

Last year, we used fleece footy PJs with a long sleeved onsie underneath. As long as i can find them in a size that will fit (i'm thinking 24 mo-2T), we are planning on doing the same thing this year. I beleive Carters sells fleece footy PJs in bigger sizes.

We ditched the sleep sacks some time ago, which was fine for the summer, but I'm not sure what we'll do in the winter. I have the two-piece long-sleeved jammies from the Disney Store (I buy them on clearance), and I was thinking of pairing those with socks. We keep our house pretty warm, so that may be enough....if not, I'll have to look into the sleep sacks with the foot holes...

[SIZE=10pt]It's been kinda cold here the last few nights. We've had the kiddos in footed sleep jammies and the two piece jammies with socks. Although I think we'll be using footed pajamas as Peyton has figured out how to take his pants off and then his diaper

    April :)

On my youngest, I like fleece Pj's (long sleeve & pants). They also sleep with duvets.

Ours sleep in fleece footed pj's (Carters does come in toddler sizes - $7 at Costco!) or two piece fleece pj's with socks. No sleep sacks. We put blankets in their cribs for them, but they immediately throw them out. They're great sids prevention boys - they want nothing in their cribs at all! We keep our house at about 68 at night in the winter, and they've always been just fine with only the fleece pj's.

I forgot to add that we just bought fleece sheets for their cribs, too, so they're nice & cozy warm (although I had to chuckle the first time we put them in fleece pjs on their fleece sheets...they had a harder time rolling around :)!!!!!).

i bought the sleep sacks last year, but when they started pulling to a stand they would scream because they would step on it and sort of get stuck in them, so i don't think we'll use them this year.

we used long sleeved onsies and socks under the regular fleece sleepers from carters

carters does make the bigger sized fleece sleepers, but not in 24 mos size (go figure they only go up to 18 months) i ended up buying 2T for bear, i hope he doesn't "drown" in them LOL the sales girl said they are only 1 inch longer than the 24 month size. oh and the children's place has larger sizes, too FWIW

I've never used sleep sacks. My kids sleep in the blanket sleepers during the winter.

We just ditched the sleep sacs. Now they sleep in an undershirt onesie with 2-piece pajamas and an Ikea duvet. Our house is cool overnight (I set the heat to 16.5 C) to conserve energy. I think the boys are warm enough. I might put socks on them if necessary. It's amazing how much an undershirt helps - I slept in one myself just to try it out. Toasty warm!

We got one of each kind of sleep sack recently...with the feet holes out and in...and my kids seem to prefer the ones without the holes.

I put them in either Childrens Place or Carters warm footed jammies in the winter (the fleece kind) with the fleece sleep sacks.

we never used sleep sacks - they still don't sleep under their blankets so I'll put socks on them this winter - right now they're in cotton 2 pc long sleeve pj's (Old Navy)...I don't think I'll buy them footies this year - DD is potty training and DS is right around the corner...

My kids sleep in long sleeve, long legged no feet pjs which we put on backwards because they take their clothes off! Then we put warm pjs on them that have feet, a zipper in the front with a snap at the top. We put covers on them but we find their room a little chilly at night.
