I generally get somewhat depressed in the winter (I hear it's an actual disorder?). However, I feel more depressed NOW then ever. I don't think it's clinical depression but more like boredom with no way out. I love being with my girls all day but I feel trapped in doors. Having to put on 20 thousand pieces of clothing on them to go out is more than I can handle and the fact that I only have one real stay home mommy friend makes it that much harder. I've been having a hard time connecting with other stay home moms in my neighborhood as they also have older children and so they are going in many directions at once and don't make any attempts to hang out with me and my girls. I just find walking around the mall or even going to the local Wal-mart to be boring (since I don't really have any money to spend right now) and redundant. Plus, the girls start to get antsy rather quickly. I find myself sick of the routine we have and want to change it up a bit. I'm actually sick of their toys and I think they are getting bored with the whole routine as well. They are barely interested in their exersaucers and jumparoo (they last maybe 5 minutes before they cry for me to take them out). What do you do to stay sane in the monotonous and mundane routine of life IN the house??

you have just summed up my life right now! I feel the EXACT same way you do. My girls are 6.5 months now. Where do you live?? I wish we lived near each other so that we could get together. Please let me know if you figure anything out b/c I am afraid I am becoming depressed.

I am right there with you! Now that it is colder and they are finally starting to stabilize their nap schedule, one of the last things I want to do is go out. BUT, by the end of the day, I am so bored that I just end up going to sleep by 9:00pm.

I think they are bored too. I keep rotating their Christmas toys and thankfully they are getting starting to crawl a lot, so that is keeping them somewhat interested in their day. But I am even bored by the baby food I am feeding them!

I am in Guelph Ontario - where is everyone else?

I'm in Long Island, NY. I read the entire post on where is everyone from and only one person was from NY and she is in the city which is 1 1/2 hours away. It sucks.

My babies are only 2 weeks old and I feel the same way!!!! OH NO!!!
I was used to going and doing whatever - then was put on bedrest at 30 weeks (10wks ago!) - now since it is so cold I don't want to take the girls anywhere!!! my Ava is already a bit congested - and we havn't been anywhere! I am ready for the weather to get warmer so we can at least go outside and sit on the swing for some fresh air!!

I too get the blues....The babies and I are home all week we don't go anywhere but to Church on Sunday Morning and IF there is something special going on in the family we maybe will go to that. I do leave the house one other time alone to run errands I'm usually gone maybe 2hrs (according to what it is) I too was use to picking up and going but its not as easy anymore. My Hubby doesn't understand what the big deal is BUT Hubby has yet to get them ready by himself and take them anywhere [IMG]. Also I have YET to have a day home alone by myself.

The babies are getting cabin fever also. If anyone comes over other than the "Regular" Family members My Kyle Screams if they get near him. My Dad say's its cause we don't get out enough WELL YEAH!! BUT its just to cold and I don't go ANYWHERE with them by myself...Call me Chicken [IMG] [IMG]
