My guys have been sleeping through the night for a while now but within the last couple of weeks Noah started waking at 4 or 5 am wide awake!!!! I keep going in and giving him a binky but I'm doing it several times an hour...last night I tried giving him his binky for an hour before giving up and taking him out and holding him...when I thought he was getting pretty sleepy I put him back down and he started whining again...so needless to say I slept in the chair with him until 7. This is nuts!! I have no idea what is going on? Aiden is still sleeping through and he's the one that started rolling!

Maybe he was hungry. I find that if i have to put in a soother 2 - 3 in a row, they are usually hungry. Could that be it???

Maybe he is hungry, maybe he is hitting a growth spurt. Is he fussy any other time, usually if my girls don't lay flat they have an ear infection. GL.

I kept trying to give him the binky but he would take it for a few seconds and then start talking and then the talking turned into whining...it was as if he thought it was time to play. He has reflux and I'm not sure if that was kicking up or what. As soon as I picked him up he stopped. So I'm thinking if he was hungry he would have continued whining.

Mine have gone through stages like that, too. I never know what it might have been & they do eventually start sleeping again. Could he be teething?

If mine acted like that, it was because they were hungry. I would typically just feed them and then go back to sleep. It will settle down soon. :hug99: I hope you get some sleep again soon.

yes they will sleep thru the night again! it could be any of the reasons that were already posted. my daughter used to do it whe she was having growth spurt or hitting a milestone, like rolling over. now you have decide how you want to handle it. unfortunately by going in and holding him, he now expects it if he wakes up during the night. why is it the habits we don't want are the ones they pick up right away?! :p
with my DD once I determined nothing was really wrong I would let her lay there until she fell back to sleep on her own, if she cried I would quietly check to make sure she was still ok, it was HARD and I would never let her get too worked up, it took a few nights but then she was sleeping through the night again. it is harder with 2 b/c you don't want the other one to wake up too...
Hope it gets better for you soon!
