Will I make it to my scheduled Csection?

I finally have my cesarean date of Halloween. I am so excited about it. But my contractions, while getting very strong, aren't regular. I'm losing my mucous plug everyday in pieces. The only good news is the last time I was checked (last Thursday) my cervix was still high and not effaced at all. I was holding about 1 cm which I have been for many weeks. I really need to hold out 10 more days!!! I am going to be so bummed out if I don't make it to Halloween!!!

 

Is that because you want their birthday to be on Halloween or because of the extra Belly-Baking?

Its the extra baking! I'll be 36 weeks and 1 day (possibly 2 days) when they are born. They are very big though on US measuring in the 90th percentile... but that doesn't mean their lungs are developed. I'm just really hoping they hold out.

Just curious ... why not go longer? Do you have any (medical) issues/reasons? 36 weeks is only 36 weeks ... Mine always measured 2 weeks ahead and were born with average singleton size weights (see my siggy) 12 days early (38w2d). Very easy and smooth delivery, no medical issues during pregnancy although I did start to dilate at 32 weeks (2 cm, 3 cm, and later 4 cm). There is no reason why twins can't be 7 or 8 pounders.
