We bought a Wii system a couple of years ago that has been used approximately 3 times. :( Anyway, the girls will be 3 in in December and I was wondering if they are getting to the age that they would be able to start using it (in moderation, of course). Do any of you have 3 year olds who are able to use the Wii successfully? If so, which games are they playing?

My girls have fun trying to play the hula hoops on wii fit and some other wii fit games. They also have fun trying to play Carnival Games and Sesame Street Cookie Monster's Counting Carnival. They need a lot of help with it but they really like it.

the wii fit board games they like (hula hoop, the skiing etc) although Abby's not heavy enough so I actually have to kneel behind her and help her swivel her hips LOL!!!

they also have the Diego safari game and Ian likes playing the Cars Mater National game - he's not very good at it but loves it! oh and bowling also!

At 3y10m mine were able to do the bowling, tennis, boxing and baseball that comes with Wii sports. We had just gotten the Wii at that point. But now at 4.5 years old they can do just about any of the games we have and they love playing Just Dance and Kids Bop Dance too, those are fun. I would say in the next year you will see a big difference with what they can do with the Wii. :)

Thanks for the replies. You all confirmed what I was already thinking. They probably aren't ready yet, but in a year they probably will be. I don't really want them glued to video games yet anyway, but I also hate to see our Wii sitting there collecting dust.

At 3 mine enjoyed some of the Wii sports type games & a few of the Wii Fit games, but it was still quite frustrating for them. Now, at 4, they have mastered the Wii system, can get the disks, put them in, get it turned on & started up, etc. and can play most of the rated E games. They LOVE Mario Kart & beat me every time.

As for being glued to video games, we just set limits in the beginning, they know the only time they are allowed to play is for just a bit first thing in the morning while I am getting breakfast ready, then again if there is time in the evening while I am cooking dinner. Middle of the day is off limits.
