Does the sleeper not wake up, even with all of her carrying on? If not, then let her figure it out. She won't do it forever! Or, separate them and get her through this...then put them back together.

    Is she teething? Ear infection?

The first thing I think is that she's way overtired. . . 10pm or later is pretty later for a young child. My Berkley is 6 and never gets to bed later than 8pm. . . so maybe that's an issue?

Can you tell us about the rest of her day?
    Wake up time?
    Naptime?

Well she finally fell asleep at 11:45. She got up today at 10:30 played and ate went to take a nap around 1:30 but played in her crib about an hour before both fell asleep. I toke them over my nieces house and played for awhile then wnet to dinner around 6:30 came home had baths at 9 and snack then layed them down around 10 min to 10. now Austin went right to sleep. At day care they usually lay them down aroun 9:30 u think 30 min made that much of a difference????

Do they have any problems with reflux? I know that both of mine were like that. Now they are over that but one (Lucas) has night terrors and he is up and down all night long. I feel your frustrations. I hope things get a little better for you. Sometimes when they are just too tired they fight sleep also. GOOD LUCK!

I do think 30 min. can make a big difference actually! I would try to move her bedtime earlier. I agree with Amanda. 10:00 is awful late for toddlers! (I realize they sleep in in the morning and I guess maybe that's more important to you, so if you want to keep that I would just make their bedtime a little earlier.) [IMG]

(I LOVE that they go to bed early, so that I have my free time in the evening)

I know something different works for everyone, but we're all born w/ a natural Circadian{sp?} rhythm and for little ones going to bed so late and getting up so late really inteferes w/ that.
It's actually permanently setting that pattern for the rest of their lives.
So when they go to school, you're probably going to have some pretty tough battles getting them up in the morning and getting them to go to bed early enough at night to get up the next day.
Like I said, I understand that what works for me isn't going to work for everyone. But it truly seems like they need to go to bed a minimum of an hour earlier and need to start their day earlier, otherwise there's not enough sunshine hours for them for a natural rhythm or sleeping/awake pattern.

    Does this make sense?

Quick question for ya. Im pretty sure both my girls have night terrors. They have never been good sleepers due to reflux, and even after that had resloved itself.. But now they wake up hysterical, quite often, even during nap time. Almost like they don't know where they are, in a trance. It takes a while for them to come around and they will eventually fall back to sleep in our arms or our bed. This goes on all night long. How did you know it was definately night terrors? I have an appointment at a sleep clinic but I was wondering if you could give me any insight.

    Thanks Dawn
