This pregnancy is being so much harder than my last pregnancy. I was 30 when I got pregnant last time and 33 this time ( I just turned 34). Here are a few of the ways
1st-hardly sick and then only in the mornings 2nd- still sick most of the day and throwing up at 17 1/2 weeks
1st-no headache 2nd- many days from the time I wake until I go to sleep I have a headache that gets better and worse
1st-no varicose vains 2nd-dr told me today to get the compression socks already (it is 105 here today, I don't want to wear in this heat)
1st-mild back pain in third trimester 2nd-already pain everyday that I know will get worse
1st-could eat whatever I wanted 2nd-have to be careful what I eat or I get sicker, can't eat any sweets or I am sick
1st-taught first grade until school was out at 30 weeks 2nd-good thing I am a SAHM b/c I couldn't function at a job

And I am only 17 weeks. How much worse is it going to get? Granted I am older but both were between 30 and 34. I am worried how I will function by the end. Any advice??

Umm... it could be that you are chasing after two toddlers!!! Age doesn't help. I hit the wall with my first pregnancy (twins) at about 36 weeks but worked until the day before they were born (38 weeks). BUT.. I was going from air conditioning to air conditioning and had a desk job. I'd come home and nap. I had the ability to rest all the time. When the twins were 2.5 years old, I didn't have that luxury anymore. My 2nd pregnancy was tougher, but I didn't hit the wall like I had with my twins. Make no mistake, I was ready... but was ok when he came at 40+1. Try to take it easy!

not a whole lot of help, but I get headaches everyday too. My doc told me it's ok to have tylenol with a caffeine drink everyday if I need to. I will usually see if I can tough it out, and if I can't I'll take tylenol with a pepsi (but only before 3 pm or I won't sleep) I was surprised when she said I could have a full blown soda everyday but she said the studies show only huge amounts of caffeine have a negative effect. :pardon: You could give it a try on the days your headache gets worse.
 about everything else, just try to rest when you can (maybe while the twin are napping?)

I ended up being Rx'd coffee for my migraines! He wanted me on percocet TOO but the coffee did the trick! GL! That sounds miserable but I bet the sickness lets up soon!

I had the headaches with both pregnancies, but this time they were much worse. I was eventually prescribed darvocet for the back pain, the pain from a tilted uterus, and the headaches. SHe has now moved me to percocet. My headaches stopped around 20 weeks or so. I was pretty much miserable through the second trimester due to severe exhaustion. It is definitely much harder being pregnant when you have to chase kids around and do for them all day. Hope it gets better.

it just sucks to be pregnant when you have kids to tend to. thats why i tell all my friends who are pregnant with their first baby(s) to enjoy their first pregnancy because it only happens once. i was a very very cranky pregnant person this time around and dont really want to experience that level of misery again. somehow i forgot it all - good thing i am getting an iud! but seriously the exhaustion from chasing twin toddlers - who quit napping on me - made my singleton pregnancy so much harder then my twin pregnancy in many ways. it will be over before you know it. good luck. and yes coffee and soda - lots of it - helped me.
