Why does she always stick her tongue out?

One of our daughters always sticks her tongue out. She sticks it out really far too. She doesn't hold it there, it just goes in and out, in and out etc. I wouldn't worry if it was just occasionally but it happens every single day and often too! Is this normal? We will ask the Doctor this week because we are going in to ask a couple of other questions but I was wondering if any of you had this problem.

    Thanks!

My DD did this! It's really funny and she has a very long tongue too!! She's fine!

Mine do it constantly -- one seemed to have her tongue out of her mouth just about every minute. She stopped doing it so much, but now her sister does it [IMG]. They are just playing with what their bodies do.

It's completely normal! She's learning how to work her body. Have fun and play with her, make a game of wiggling your tongue and seeing if she'll imitate you.

Sophie does it too. Its so cute. She sticks it in, out, in and out lol. Its just them finding out they can do something new and then they have to try it over and over again. She also shrieks when she wants attention that on the other hand is not so cute! x

Mine does it too...in fact we call her Gene Simmons. However, we found out hers is due to the fact that her cheeks and lips have no muscle tone and she has to have PT to strengthen them. She said a lot of babies have muscle tone problems and that is why tongues hang out. Oh...we have PT because both of them have problems sucking and nursing. They can't even hold a pacifier in their mouth.
