Why does it always happen in the middle of the night?

I seriously want to know why if a child gets the flu, they almost always throw up in the middle of the night? Or, they have a small fever during the day, and at night it's unbelievably high. My ds had a fever yesterday of 101. I gave him tylenol and he was fine through out the day. I continued the tylenol, and in the middle of the night, 1 hour into last dose of tylenol, his temp was 104.2. He was already naked except for his diaper and laying with no blanket or anything. I had to put a cool, damp cloth on all those spots-temple, wrists, back of neck- and finally got it down to 102.8. Now this morning it's back to 100.7. What's that about?

it is so true!!! a few weeks ago we got to ride in an ambulance at 3am with my 10yr old who ran a fever of 106 and did not reconize me or his dad - and he had been in the hosp. - they decided to transfer
him at 3am to a childrens hosp. after earlier that day he was much better!! I woke up at 2- he was
stiff, unable to walk and fever of 106! oh and I was very pregnant with the girls!! things always get worse at night!

I hope your son feels better soon!!

That is how it happened with me as well... Zack was running a low grade fever, then when we went to bed, I checked on him later in the night, he was on fire! His temp was 104, by the time we got to the ER it was 105.3!! I was surprised how it shot up so quickly, after he went to bed.

I hope your little one gets to feeling better soon! [IMG]
