Why do MoMs sometimes wrap their bellies in Saran Wrap?

    because they're belly is stretching so much the saran wrap helps hold it in place, to pull the skin back so it's not stretching as much hehe

    The only time I have ever seen that was pics of people having 4, 5, + kids and in the hospital. Never knew that was why. Weird I never wondered why in the first place though.

    I heard an interview with that Jon and Kate + 8 lady once, and she talked about that. She said she had to put some sort of cream or oil on her belly to alleviate the stretching pain. The saran wrap was to keep that stuff from staining her clothes and bed linens.

    It is a type of belly binding which many other countries do.. it is really done to pull the uterus back in place and to tighten the skin after giving birth. If you google belly bands post partum you will see they do the same thing but cost about $50-$60. I had never heard of it either, but wished I knew about it after giving birth it could of helped my diastasis recti (muscle seperation) tremendously after giving birth.
