Why are people so nosey?

I am so sick of hearing this question! Why do people have to ask this? Everytime I disclose to someone that I am having twins, whether it be at my sons school or the grocery store, or even walking around my neighborhood with my son while he rides his bike. The first thing that seems to come out of peoples mouths are "So this is it right" or "So which one is getting fixed?" Gosh I am sick of it...This is only my second pregnancy, yes we will have three children but it is none of their buisness! Come on, I don't think my three will over populate this world!!

Yes it has been a discussion between my husband and I but it just seems so permanent. How do I know I won't want more in 8 yrs?? Is anyone else being asked the same questions and feeling the same way?? Does anyone her plan on getting "fixed?"

I got, "You're done, right?" with raised eyebrows, daring me to disagree. Now, it happened that I was (had IF between the boys and girls and was in my mid-30s when they were born), but that was because I knew I would not want to start over by the time I recovered from twins. It irritated me that the assumption was that I *must* be done. If I had been 5 years younger, I would not have been done to a certainty, so no one would have been getting fixed.

Perhaps you should just say, "Oh, well, we want 5 of each" to see what kind of face they make. :lol:

 

I just had our #3 and I am getting it all of the time from people who have no business asking too! It drives me nuts! Sometimes I want to tell them that I am already pregnant with #4 just to shut them up!

 

This does crack me up because I get it all the time(being pregnant with number 3...although we did get it with "just the twins")! People assume you have two children you're done and if you have three that you must certainly be done and anything over that number is insanity.

Lots of people have an inability to control the random comments that come from their mouths!

 

They really ask you which one of you is going to get fixed? That is just rude! People just don't think before they speak. I always get the "oh one boy and one girl, you are done, then". And then I tell them they have an older sister too and I get shocked look. <_<

 

I am on #4 and #5. Noone has said it to me YET, but if they do I am going to ask them who did their vasectomy or tubal because they messed up and turned off the sensor button in their brains.

it just pisses me off. Sorry!

 

I get the rude people who ask why I bothered to have kids again when I was "almost done". Done with what, I wonder?

I really don't want to go into the long and painful IF we endured for 7 looooong years.
Let it roll off girlfriend. You will get rude people.

Your rude response could be, "Hopefully YOU."
This way they won't befuddle the gene pool with their potentially rude offspring... LOL I'm kidding, of course... Ok, so maybe just a little...

 

OMG! I don't know what I'd do if anyone ever asked me that! That is VERY rude, and definately not any of their business. <_< I don't blame you for being a bit upset by it. :hug: It is definately something that is only between you and your SO, not your neighbors. This question is along the lines of "did you use help"... why do people care so much? ardon:

I just really HATE comments like that!!! it is none of anyone's business how many kids we have!!!! When people ask me if we are done I always say "I hope not!" their mouths drop!

 

Whenever someone asks me a question I don't want to answer, I tilt my head slightly to the right, smile and say, "Why do you ask?"

 

I tell people on on two and three and I just turned 21 and they ask if we are done. I say no, i want six. I'm getting six. Not three.

Honestly though, I want 6 so i have a little while to go yet.

We have five now and we "think" we are done, but hey we've said that before. My husbands favorite answer is "no, we're going for tax exemption!" That usually shuts them up. Could you imagine being the Duggars or some other large family and trying to go anywhere? As long as I'm supporting them it's no one elses business.

 

I agree - people are so rude. I've gotten that comment a lot, especially since we already have a 2-year old son & now we're expecting girls. We get comments like "Oh, since you're having girls this time I guess you're done, right?". <_< No!! <_< We didn't try to have another child just to have a girl.

 

Wow- that is really rude! I am still amazed at how stupid people can be when it comes to twins. Just wait til they get here!
