i am SO worn out right now! it seems like i'm much more tired now than i was when the babies were a week old...and it wouldn't surprise me if it gets a little "worse" before it really starts to get better...anyone have any thoughts about this phenominon?

I think it is because you never have time to refuel. In the beginning you were running off adrenaline and new mommy hormones, now you are just running.  It does get better. But honestly for the first 3 months, I was on complete survival mode.

I think Brandy hit it, exactly! The lack of sleep is catching up to you.

yep, the initial adrenaline rush has passed and now you are in survival mode. i also felt like i had tons of energy in the very beginning, but alas, it didn't last... and now that i am chasing 2 babies around the house i am even more tired than i was in the beginning! [IMG]

in the beginning i compared it to the excitement of having a new car, when you first get it you want to drive it all the time, but after a couple of weeks, driving is a chore again..

Definitely the lack of sleep will start to catch up with you and, you are right, it might get worse before it gets better.

I agree with everyone else!!

Unfortunately it does get worse, for me it peaked around 6 wks when I had a total meltdown because breastfeeding was just not working for us.

Once I switched to formula, the babies started sleeping better and not wanting to nurse 24/7, then things started to turn around. And once they started sleeping through the night at 3 months things got MUCH better!!

i'm really looking forward to that whole 'sleeping through the night" thing again...i just need to keep reminding myself that "this to shall pass" and keep taking it a day at a time...

I noticed that as well in the beginning. Just remember: it DOES get better:)
