We're having a diaper rash here from yucky acid poos :bad: that are eating my Jamies butt! Anyway I remember someone had a recipe for diaper rash cream that used a tub of Eucerine and some liquid Maalox, but I couldn't find the recipe when I searched. Help! :help:

Jenny, I found this one on the internet:

    Ingredients:
    1 teaspoon mineral oil
    2 teaspoons cornstarch baby powder
    2 teaspoons zinc oxide ointment
    2 teaspoons triple antibiotic ointment
2 teaspoons Lotramin A/F ointment (optional for yeast infections)

    Directions:

Mix oil and cornstarch powder until a suspension is formed. Add ointments and mix well. Place in container with lid. Apply with cotton swab.

This recipe for Diaper Rash Cream serves/makes 2 oz.

You can also ask for Triple Paste samples from your pedi and they have it behind the counter at the Pharmacy.

    I did! I did!
It is a great, cheap recipe that really helps, especially when you have to use it every single diaper change. Some of the RXs can cost about $30 for a teensy tinesy tub!.
I actually put mine in the mixer, yes the one I make cakes in.
I put the entire tub of Eucerin into the mixer, add Maalox until it becomes the consistency of frosting. Yes, my doctor used this exact wording- Frosting! I put it back into the Eucerin tub, and then also put it into some of those little snack disposable containers that First Years makes. Using the big tub when it is only about half full makes for some messy hands.

Enjoy...just kidding...hope it works well for you!

Another recipe that may work (a nurse I work with suggested this and it works great for everything - diaper rash, ezcema, etc)
Mix creamy desitin with karaya powder ( 4 parts des to 1 part karaya powder)

The karaya powder can be found at a pharmacy that sells medical supplies - usually one small bottle lasts me at least a year) It tingles initially when put on but doens't hurt or burn.

    Good luck
