Okay, I'm going to be at my parent's house in southern Missouri.
I'm buying boster seats for the girls, but the thing is my brother had a stroke at the end of June and is now living with my parents. That means there will be 4 adults and 2 4-year olds. This http://www.infant-car-seats.com/states/car...s-Missouri.html Shows that booster seats for 4 year olds are only "strongly recommended" of course I want my girls to be as safe as possible. But my parent's don't have a 6 seater. I'm trying to find boosters that will allow a third adult to ride in the back with them, but it would be enoursly helpful if it's true that there is no requirement past four years old and on occasion we could all pile in one car, since my mom doesn't drive and my brother can't drive right now and my US licence expired 8 years ago!

It probably is correct. Although, it is highly suggested.

That is not correct. They are supposed to be in a boster seat until they reach I think over 80 pounds  ( it might be 60) It was changed to something pretty high. Most people do not follow it though.

We have the Graco Turbo Boosters. Not the high back ones, just the regular ones. I can sit between the kids in the back of our Saturn Vue. And the boosters are only about $18 at WalMart.

    Child Safety
While safety belts offer excellent protection for adults, they are not designed to keep children safe in the event of a motor vehicle accident. Missouri law states:

A child less than four years old or weighing under 40 pounds must be secured in a child passenger restraint system appropriate for the child.
A child over four years of age, but less than eight years of age, who also weighs between 40 and 80 pounds and is under 4'9" tall, must be secured in a child passenger restraint system or booster seat appropriate for that child.Children at least 80 pounds, or children more than 4'9" tall, are required to be secured by an appropriate vehicle safety belt or booster seat.
The fine for violating Missouri's child safety law is $50 plus court costs. Child safety seat requirements do not apply to children who are being transported in a school bus or public carrier for hire.

If you're not sure what type of child seat your child needs, review the DMV.ORG articles on How to Buy a Child Safety Seat and How to Install a Child Safety Seat.

Between 4 and 8 need to be in a Booster to make sure the seatbelts fit correctly. The pp was right - you can pick up inexpensive low-back boosters that will work fine while you are here for inexpensively at Kmart or somewhere. Boosters aren't nearly as wide as a regular convertible seat, though. I think that an adult will be able to fit between them.

The laws really vary state to state but most states have adopted the 4'9" law stated below. I still have my 9 y/o in a booster seat since she is only 56 lbs. Personally, I would still have my kids in a booster no matter the law for safety. I couldn't live with myself if something ever happened to them and I didn't have them in a car seat out of convenience.

We have 2 no back boosters in one row and have no problem fitting a third in the row. IT's a bit tight but no big deal.

MO DOT Straight from the source. You can almost always find the safety seat laws on the state DOT or DMV site.
