I can not believe even though it has been a year of such hard work and exhaustion how weepy I am today. I did not really think them turning one would bother me so much. I do not know if it is them growing up or starting preschool next week since we are going back to teaching.

I am so used to being with them all day, everyday that I am going to really miss them. I guess I am worried they are going to forget mama and love their preschool teacher more who since they are with them a long period of the day. At least they will be home by 3:00 most days and we can spend the rest of the afternoon and evening together.

It has been wonderous to see them grow into such unique, sweet little boys. Noah is so independent and walking but, when it comes to nap time he loves to cuddle with me for a few minutes before he goes down to sleep. He is also making strides with more textured foods; so I hope the gagging/vomiting thing will stop soon. We have noticed just in a few days how he has/is changing. He also is more jovial and gets so excited when he is walking and dancing around. We clap and he jumps up and down.

Jacob is my little peanut. He loves to always be with me and gives hugs and kisses often. He also loves to laugh. He is a kind hearted boy who even laughs and smiles when Noah is getting attention. I worry about Jacob and preschool because he is so attached to me but, I know it will be good for each of them in their growing. Even though Jacob is still cruising he is a self feeder and quite proud of himself at mealtime that he does not always need my help.

It is just hard to believe what tiny little things they were when they were born and now such little men.

Thank you for letting me cry via the computer.

Happy birthday to your boys! I thought I was the only one getting sad because mine are turning 1 in a couple of weeks. I thought I would be completely overjoyed, and that was it.

About the preschool thing, my girls could almost fly if they could when I get to pick them up at school. They make such delightful squeals and flap/pump their little arms. One makes a bee line straight for the gate. The other one is so excited she forgets she can move. I am happy that they like school, so they don't have a fit when I drop them off, but there is no doubt they love me and are happy to see me each afternoon I pick them up.

Congratulations on making it through the past year! Mine turned one on the 20th and I wasn't weepy all day; thought a lot about the itty bitty days and how I thought I would never survive, so I guess I felt relief for most of the day. And then in the late afternoon Sarah took her first steps and the tears started and kept coming. For me it's that Ben and Sarah will be my last babies, and while I'm happy to be done with the itty bitty days, I feel guilt and a little bit cheated that their first year was so grueling that I wasn't able to enjoy it more. Does that make sense?

Anyway, making it through the first year is a MAJOR accomplishment so be proud of yourself and your peanuts. Also, preschool will only make them love you more. The time you spend together will be sweeter :)

Melony, don't worry, they are definitely not going to forget you. :hug99: I know how you feel though. I'm going to start teaching in the fall and my guys are not going to see me daily either. I'm sad but I know that things are going to work out. Sounds like our boys are very similar too. One snuggly; one goofy! ;)
