Tomorrow will be 3 weeks, admitted to the hospital at 27 weeks and 6 days due to an incompetant cervix, 2 cm dilated and funneling. I was also contracting but not feeling them. I have to admit it hasn't been too bad, people bring me food (mmm burgers, greek, subway)and I get different visitors daily. Now that I have the internet I think I can make it to 35 weeks then I can walk around. I spent the first 2 weeks in Trandelenburg to keep pressure off my cervix, I am flat now and only get up to go to the washroom and a daily shower.

Any one else in the same situation?

Also what is procardia for? I asked my nurse and she hadn't heard of it - I am in BC

Glad bedrest hasn't been too bad for you so far! I am not on bedrest right now, been off for exactly one week. I was put in the hospital at 25 weeks for cervix issues, spent about a week there and then 10 weeks on strict bedrest at home. All restrictions and meds were lifted last Sunday when I hit 36 weeks. Of course, after laying down so long, I can still hardly move. But it's definitely an improvement. :)

Procardia helps with contractions. Some people say it is supposed to stop them, but from what I understand, it's more to relax your muscles so when you do have contractions, they are "lighter" and do not change your cervix. I was on it from around 23 weeks until 36 weeks.

    Good luck to you!

  3. I am currently on bedrest for mild preeclampsia and HELLP syndrome. Was admitted 4 days ago and plan to be here for many weeks (until delivery).

Trying to keep myself from losing my mind. I think I have many weeks of that ahead :)

I just started bedrest 5 days ago to avoid my history of preterm labor. I am 27 weeks pregnant with identical twin girls. I found this sight through a Facebook friend that used it during her bedrest. I am very scared and anxious awaiting the birth of my girls. But now I am on bedrest and I am very bored with a ton of questions!!! I am hoping this sight and forum will be a great source in finding information and fighting boredum.

I am not on bedrest per se, but I am on "no work outside the home" rest. So I guess that is considered very modified bedrest?? Nothing wrong, just too big to do my job walking around all day as a teacher's aide in a Kindergarten classroom. Also some hypoglycemia so I have to eat (like we all do) all the time. The worst part is feeling like my mind wants to DO all sorts of things that it needs my body to cooperate with in order to accomplish!! things like walking the dog or standing long enough to cook a meal without feeling like all blood/fluid in my body is draining into my ankles, etc.

Oh well, it will all be over soon enough! This is 29 weeks for me carrying these boys and my OB won't let me go past 38 weeks (if I make it there)...and we have each other! Hang in there, ladies!!!

Wanted to update my bedrest statement from above...I am now on REAL bedrest in the hospital with pre-eclampsia. Boys are 33 weeks along, so hoping to get them to at least 34 weeks!
