i'm looking for one that is inexpensive, but i can run 5k's with, and that'll last me a long time.

    TIA!

I have one (actually I have three...a single from oldest son, double from when I had second son, AND a triple that I bought when the twins were born and middle son was only 2).

They are all 'Baby Jogger' and I love them. They are great for running (but big, so not great for people looking to use it as a stroller in stores, etc). I've trained for two half-marathons, one full marathon, and two seasons of triathlons with them!

The bigger the wheels the better to run with....my single has 20" wheels & it's a dream. Super easy to push!

The are pricey, but the only one I purchased new is the single. I bought the double on Craigs List for $50 and the triple on EBay. I think buying used is a great way to get a well-made jogger at a good price.

    Good Luck!

I ran several 5K's last year, but none with my stroller. However, I did run and walk with my stroller a lot (pratically daily). I got mine off of ebay and it was cheaper than any other i had found. It is a safetech double and I have been very pleased with it. The only down side is that it is big and bulky when putting it in my van. You can detach the wheels, but I never do go through the trouble.

I would get one that has the optoin of swivel or lock that way you can use it for more than running. I have the Double Schwinn Safari...i really like it. my girls are 3 and we still use it on really long walks or at the zoo. I don't run 5K's though

Mine has an option. I lock it to run, unlock to walk. Any jogging strollers that swivel should have a lock on it because you definitely want it locked to run. I like that mine has the option.

If you want to take it anywhere else, definitely get a swivel wheel! I got a cheepie brand (Amoroso.....most people never even heard of it). It's ok, but I don't think it'd be easy to run with.

I'd look for one of the high end ones used if you are going to be using it for running. We are getting ready to sell ours (though I don't think you want to pay the shipping from Mexico) and it's seriously "like new" even though it's 4 years old and from 3 months through 24 months we used it daily or more often--it was even what we intially feed them in, just rolled it up to the table. I used it as a swing that first year too--rolling them back and forth in the kitchen...
We've used it off road a lot. and DH has run with it (even some 10k races). It has great sun protection. But I've never taken it to a mall--we don't have any malls near us. (it doesn't have a swivel wheel and I've never missed it--but the fixed wheel does make it a very long stroller, in crowds at festivals it can be hard to keep people from tripping over the front wheel because it sticks out--but they need to look where they are going :p) It's a dreamer designs. www.dreamerdesign.net My parents bought it for me on ebay. It's held up so well. It was worth every cent. I would feel comfortable listing it for sale as "like new" and we've used it and used it.

Not inexpensive, but if you want to invest in one and have it last forever, this is the one I have

Chariot CX2 Scroll to the bottom one.

Good luck finding one that works for you :)

I don't jog with mine, but do think it's well made. We have the Instep Safari TT. It has the option of a swivel or locked wheel.

I have an Instep Safari double jogger I got on Walmart.com at a good price. It has the option to swivel or lock the front wheel. But, I do not run with it, just a whole lot of walking. So I don't know if it would be good for running or not.

We have the Instep safari as well. It is a great stroller but in the locked position it pulls a little to the right. There is no way to adjust it either so we cannot jog seriously with it. It is awesome for walking, zoo, mall, however. Just dont expect to log any serious miles with it as a jogger.

The Bob Revolution Duallie is my recommendation. It's expensive, but sometimes you can find them used on eBay. The wheel can swivel or lock, sun protection is amazing, and the stroller fits through all normal sized doors so you can use it as a jogger and as a regular stroller. It's actually our only stroller. I use it for walks and shopping and my DH uses it to run with the girls. He's actually planning to run a marathon in September with them in it (for as long as they'll sit still!). Again, pretty expensive, but they're built so well that buying a lightly used one is a better value than some of the cheap-o joggers new.

I LOVE this stroller and do not have any problems with it pulling to the right. I take it on major hikes at least 3 times a week and do some jogging as well.

My only complaint is that the sun shield doesn't actually do any good at all if we are facing the sun. I have to hang a blanket off of it which the girls hate of course. Or they have to wear their hats, which they hate just as much! :)

i appreciate all your responces. so i've done some research, and tho i'd love to get a baby jogger or a bob - which i may if i find one on ebay at the right price - i did come across this one...

    tike tech

for those of you who use your's to run, what would you think of this one? i don't need it for indoors necessarily ( i already have 2 strollers for that), just running and MAYBE other outdoor activities (beach, picnics, etc)

    thanks again!

Wow I love the wheels on that thing. That would have been great for me since I was off the pavement like 80% of the time I used the stroller outside. But I'm not sure you'd want those tires for serious running. It'd be kind of like using a mountain bike for a road race, KWIM?
I can't remember the name of the site, but there are several where you can read a lot of reviews, and one where you went through a quiz type thing and they told you the best stroller for you. Have you found anything like that yet?

We have the cheapest one we could find, the Instep one from Target. We like it so much we use it for almost all our walks unless we are going somewhere in the car. It is a pain in the butt to fold it up and it doesn't fold down very small so we only take it on walks/jogs from home. Running while pushing a stroller is a different and much harder experience but it's a great workout! Here's a pic of the one we have.

I have the Step 2 Safari. It has a swivel wheel. I love that stroller, wish I could take it to the mall! But, like others, I don't run with it.

As far as the one you are questioning, the only thing I would be worried about would be that the back wheels are the same size as the front. I have never ran with a jogging stroller that has all tires the same size and I'm not sure what the impact might be. Mine has larger wheels on the back and the ones i have seen at the 5K races I ran in also had larger wheels on the back. Maybe someone who has experience can tell whether this would be an issue or not.
