We are almost 7 weeks along with this little bean and Im just as sick as i was when I was pg with the boys. I have already been on Zofran for a week and its really not helping. I dont think Im keeping anything down, I have tried ice-pops, fruit, veggies, bread, crackers, you name it and its not helping. I have an appt on the 4th and I plan to ask for something in addition to the Zofran. I remember being a a few different meds with the boys but all in all I was sick until the day I gave birth.

I told DH last night that I feel a hospital trip coming on. UGH!! I just dont want anything to happy to my little peanut.

if you have hyperemesis can you tell me what meds your dr had you on or things that you ate that made you feel human.

I feel horrible not being the mom and wife i need to be.

    I need some relief!!!!....

Mods if you have to move this I understand I was just hoping to get the most traffic.

I two had hyperemesis while pregnant with the twins. I was only on Zofran and it barely took the edge off. I lost over 20 pounds, but was overweight to begin with by the end of my pregnancy i was only 7 pounds higher than when i got pregnant. Sorry I don't have any help to offer, but you are not alone. I never want to have that feeling again. uggh Hang in there and hopefully the doctor will be able to help somehow. with sympathy stephanie

Nikki, I got sick for the last time on the OR table! I feel your pain!! :hug99: I hope it goes away this time after the first trimester! NOT RIGHT that you would have to deal with this AGAIN!!! :( :hug99:

Zofran worked for me, it kept me so that I didn't have to throw up all the time (only sometimes) and it helped me have a bit of a life. Food never tasted so good as it did RIGHT after their birth!!! :p

I was never diagnosed with hyperemesis, but I stayed sick and puked numerous times each day until 20ish weeks. Nothing worked. I did take Unisom/Vitamin B6 just to help me sleep decently at night.

Eating protein would help some. Peanut butter sandwiches all the time and a good quality cheeseburger (as gross as it sounds, it did help me for a little after eating it). I'm totally non-functioning when I have m/s. . . not much seems to help. I just had to let the house go and lay on the couch all day.

Hang in there as best you can!

I had hyperemesis with both of my pregnancies. I was on zofran for both pregnancies.

Have you talked with your doc about how sick you are? My doc set up home health for me. I received IV's with vitamins and zofran.

With my first I would take zofran and then later I would take the other anti-nausea drugs that they usually prescribe for pregnant woman.

With the twins nothing really touched my sickness and I was sick for a long time. I could only hold down food for an hour or so after the zofran so I would eat as much as I could.

When I was pregnant with DS1 my nurses recommended drinking Gatorade/powerade. She said that those drinks give you back electrolights and other crucial things that water can't give you by itself.

I am sure you have already done this, but there were certain foods that my tummy handled a lot easier then others. HTH! If you want to send me a PM to talk about HG then please do. I have been there and done that.

The thing that really made me feel decent was a coke slurpee. Just a small one - didn't want too much caffeine or sugar, but the little bit in a small was a great pick-me-up.

Zofran and Phenergan suppositories. I know how horrible this is and I am so sorry you are going through it. I was hospitalized a few nights for it and getting a few bags of IV fluids helped me,too. I pray it ends soon!!

Nikki--Are you feeling any better? I had hyperemesis with the twins, so I totally feel for you. We used Zofran (Phenerghan didn't work). Also, I used the motion sickness wrist bands (not sure how much they work--but it is worth a try). Hang in there. Let us know how you are feeling.

Thanks for asking. Not really feeling better. I just lay around when I can and eat when I have a min of feeling better but it usually comes back up. I was getting dehydrated my urine was getting kinda dark but I was able to turn that around thank god. As much as I could use the rest of a hospital visit I already feel like a horrible wife and mom for not being able to do the things I normally do.
I have an appt on the 4th so Im going to ask for another med to try to get this under control.

On another note I did try the bands when I was pg with the boys and they didnt help.

thanks again for checking in (((HUGS)))
