Who has done Gymboree Play & Learn 5?

I pulled Kevan & Karina from our beloved music class for a host of reasons, but I want to find another activity for them. They'll be 22 months next week.

Who has done this class, and what is it like? Is there a lot of physical activity? If they're a little bit behind developmentally, would they be out of place in this class?

I'm not sure if our Gymboree allows one parent/two children -- well, I think they allow it if there's absolutely no other option, but they really frown on it. But, is this the type of class where you'd really need one parent per child at this age?

Also, if you could only choose one activity, would you do Gymboree, or something like Little Gym/My Gym?

    Thanks!

I did gymboree with my oldest DD when she was 2. And the twins did My Gym when they were 2. I loved My Gym so much more than Gymboree. I thought it was much more fun for the kids. Although I haven't been to a Gymboree in ages so I'm not sure if they have changed the program, but if I had to pick between those two right now, I'd go with My Gym. :good:

We did Gymboree from the time the boys were 14 months old, until they were almost 3. We did a Pairs class, which was set up for 2 siblings with one parent. Because of this, the ages in the class varied, so it didn't matter if a child was ahead or behind in motor ability, because they made the activities fit a bunch of different stages. We loved the class, and I highly recommend it!

We did Gymboree with A&B from about 18 months to shortly before their 3rd birthday. They really enjoyed it. At some point, we switched from the regular age group class to the family class (like Sharon described) and I liked the family class better. Ours was pretty strict on the one caregiver per child rule in the regular classes, so I brought my mom with me. She still came with me most of the time for the family class, but if she couldn't make it, it wasn't a big deal. I found the family class to be a bit less structured and more enjoyable.

I take my twins to gymboree by myself and no one seems to mind. Some activities are more one on one so sometimes the teacher helps one of my boys while I do the other. We really enjoy it. Little gym is better for slightly older kids and we don't have a My Gym in this area.
