One of the girls developed a white tongue last week... I thought at first that it was because she moved over to cow's milk right about the same time. I've not seen any other changes in her besides that, and she's otherwise healthy (13 months old)... I searched the internet tonight about it & all that comes up is stuff on thrush... Could it be that? Or the cows milk?

If it can be scraped off it is just milk deposits. If it is thrush (go get a doctor's opinion) you'll be given Nystatin for the baby. Before you leave, pick up a container of Gentian Violet. It is the only thing that helped rid our house of thrush. It is very contagious, so wash anything that comes in contact with it. BTW: Thrush hurts.

Gentian violet: Coat mouth with it once a day for three days in a row. Wear old clothes. Will stain. Take lots of pictures! :D

    Could be thrush....

Also, I never really paid attention to it, but my mom did. Through TS and another mom posting about it, I found out that both of my boys have Geographic Tongue. I never really noticed it until they started drinking milk.

And yes, thrush is painful. You may want to get it checked out by the pedi and get the nystatin if it is indeed thrush.

I still don't know if my kids got thrush or not. 3 pedis in our doc office said NO. I realize their touges got really white when they drink more milk and eat less. I clean their touges out and brush their teeth daily. The white stuff is gone after I clean it. But I can't clean deeply in their mounths so its still in there.and that white stuff doesn't bother them at all. It just makes their mouths smells bad.
I'm sorry I might make you more confused.but I'm too lol

Well she doesnt seem to be in any pain or discomfort... And after letting her chew on a wet washcloth (she's also teething) it seemed to be less apparent.. So maybe its milk.. They go for shots on Monday I'll have the nurse look at it and if we need to see their pedi at least we're in the same office. :)

    Thanks everyone!
