Nightly we use a white noise generator in their room. It's an old iPod loaded with nature sounds, attached to speakers. It's perfect because even if they turn it up as loud as it will go, it doesn't go very loudly.

So one of the kids turned off the power bar that the ipod was plugged into, so when I turned it back on, everything reset. So I had to find a new noise for them to listen to at night. I found one that sounded awesome! "Dolphins and Whales".

More backstory: All day I had been telling them that there aren't ghosts in their closet. When it was time to go to bed, I read two stories, then found the white noise Dolphins and turned it on.

Roycie starts crying, "There's a ghost in the closet."
Me: "No, there isn't a ghost in the closet. The door is shut and that's why it's making funny shadows."
Alice: "There's a ghost in the closet."
iPod decides to kick in at this exact moment with the whales, "aWooooooooOOOOOooo WooooooooOWoooooooo" which strangely, sounds JUST LIKE GHOSTS IN THE CLOSET!!

I couldn't get the stupid thing to turn off before they got spooked. They were terrified, screaming, my husband comes running up the stairs. I had finally turned it off, and started laughing so hard I couldn't breathe. He had to console them because I was laughing too hard.

    My husband thinks I'm mean.

I think you're funny! :) It definitely would have made me laugh as well.

And I'll be laughing even harder when those two start crawling in your bed at night to escape the ghosts!!

Lol I would've never guessed that whales sounded like ghosts... Leave it up to children to put those together. But, it DOES make sense! And is so completely hilarious!
