The twins are finally share a room together since my ds started to outgrow the travel pack n play in our closet and their sleeping is very similar. I would like to have a white noise machine in order to filter some noises since my ds wakes very easily, especially after just falling asleep (and my oldest is still awake at that time).

Any brands, places to buy them, etc.?

    TIA!

This is the one we have (actually we have two - my mother in law went a little overboard!) and it's excellent and available at many drug stores: http://www.comfortchannel.com/prod.itml/icOid/4845

    Hello!

Yes I am a big fan of white noise machines too. I actually have had a box fan running in my bedroom for years and years now in order to sleep. But for the babies, I had used the Homedics Sound Spa Acoustic relaxation machine (www.homedics.com) in our bedroom while they stayed in there, and really enjoy using it. It has a timer on it, which is nice. It is small enough to throw in your suitcase too for travel, so we always bring it if we are going somewhere. In the nursery, I have a CD clock radio with a CD in there that constantly plays this one CD: Hush Little Baby: Soothing Sounds for Sleep. Look for it on Amazon.com, which is where I got it. The babies seem to like it. It has all kinds of different sounds on it. I plan on making copies of it and have a copy for my mom and dads house and one for the car too. Good luck!!

We bought ours called Ohm Sound Machine...you can get it from different online companies. It has six sound phases from stream, beach, soft sounds of jungle. My guys love the beach and stream sound.

Here is the link to the Homedics brand I have. I like it because it is nice and loud. Much louder than the one they sell at BRU.

I have a white noise machine in my oldest DD's room and in the twins' room. I just ordered another one a few days ago to put in the twins' room also because I'm having a problem with my oldest DD sleeping all night and I'm probably going to have to let her CIO for a few nights. Don't want to mess up them sleeping all night!!!! All of ours are the Marpac 980 A white noise machine. You can buy them at Amazon or on Ebay new. They cost $49.95 with free shipping. They only make white noise, no ocean noises, rain, etc., but they plug into the wall - no batteries and can play all night! I absolutely love them and have been well-worth the money. My oldest DD isn't woken up by the babies anymore and she can't hear me move around upstairs or downstairs after I put her to bed. The twins haven't been woken up once by oldest DD's screaming at 3:00 in the morning even though she stands right in her doorway next to the babies' room. They are also very little and would be easy to take on a trip in a noisy hotel room. They also seem to hold their value so would be easy to resell on Ebay.

I have a Homedics one as well, a bit different than the one Nicole has though. It has about 8(?) different sounds, including a thunderstorm, waterfall, and heartbeat(creepy!). I bought it through Drugstore.com.

I've had the best luck with a good quality CD player, and CD's from this website:

The "Restful Rain" is my favorite.

We use an air cleaner in their room for white noise - serves a dual purpose!

Thanks ladies. I went to Bed Bath and Beyond this morning and bought a Homedics one with 6 sounds (that's all they had). I'll try that, and if it doesn't work I may return it and try something else.

    Thanks for the suggestions!

We use the same thing, and works wonderfully. :)

Target sells a decent one. Different noises, with an alarm clock, so that puts a bit of light into the room, kind of like a nightlight. Ours has them by the pharmacy.

We have the Marpac ones from Ebay, too. (One in our room and one in the nursery). We like them a lot. There is the $49.99 one and one for $40 that only has one setting. We have one of each. I think they are equally good.

That is the one we have. We use it on waterfall all night long. It works great. :good:

You have gotten some great recommendations but while you are deciding which to buy, I had great luck with a radio just set on static.
