Which stroller to pack for a beach trip?

We will be going to the beach later this summer. We have a Baby Jogger City Classic for walking on the local trail and around our neighborhood (lots of uneven sidewalks and some gravel) and a lightweight Combi Twin Sport for everyday use to Target, the mall, etc. But which stroller should we take to the beach? I would like to be able to use the stroller on the beach, where there is compacted sand. I know the Combi won't work though, but would the BJCC roll good enough on compacted sand? If neither stroller is a good choice for beach walks, there is always the option to go for walks on the roads (which isn't as scenic obviously). For boardwalks and populated areas I know the Combi would be best, but we will be spending most of our time around the beach hopefully. Just wondering between these two strollers what other would choose to pack for the beach. Thanks!

 

I would go with your baby jogger because of the inflatable wheels. You can treat it like a bicycle and push the stroller where people ride their bikes. Good luck.

 

We took our Bob to the beach this weekend and it worked pretty well...,. You know.. when we pushed it with the brake off. Doh!

 

The combi won't even work well on compacted sand, it's a struggle (we used it last year). I'm not sure what the wheels are like on your BJCC, but anything with the bigger jogging stroller wheels will work better than umbrella style wheels.

 

It's settled then - the Baby Jogger it is! Now I just need to make sure to get my lazy butt out there and walk on the beach then My goal will be to get going before 10am to beat the heat (not to mention crowds), because nothing zaps my energy more than sweating my butt off, and dealing with 2 cranky hot babies.
