Which single strollers would you get as a back up?

We have the double snap and go and so far that is my fave stroller. We bought the baby jogger city mini and although it stears like a dream, the babies just don't seem comfortable in it yet, so it's sitting in the garage and waiting for a bit :FIFblush:

DH and I think that it would be nice to have two simple, inexpensive single strollers to get around with one baby or even sometimes two. Any advice?

We bought 2 of the Cosco single umbrella strollers from Target when they were $10. We bought them for the very same reason, and figured it was a great deal. I can't actually recommend them to you though, as we have yet to take them out of the packaging. We always have 2 kids with us!!

We got the BRU umbrella strollers and those worked well. We took them with us on vacation last year (the kids were 17 months) and they worked out well because we would have not been able to fit the double stroller in with our luggage. We still use the strollers today for short trips and will be taking them with us on vacation in a couple of weeks.

we had the Chicco umbrella strollers - a bit more expensive but they are taller than a traditional umbrella stroller and bigger - also they can be leaned back a bit so if your kids are sleepy they can get comfy...

I bought a cheapo one from Target too (though it was $12). We used it a ton when one of the girls was sick and the other was at daycare, but we never felt any need to use single strollers when all four of us were out together. It's much easier (for us, at least) to have one parent push the double stroller and the other parent have both hands free.

I did occasionally wish for a nicer single stroller, but not enough to shell out for one. If someone had offered me a free single jogger I would have taken it!

We have the Cosco ones that we bought at Target - pp mentioned. They are cheap, but they get the job done. For such short trips...nice to have lightweight. They are cheap though...just a warning...we didn't buy ours until 9 mos so I am not sure how a 5 mo old would do in a stroller that doesn't recline.

I also had the cheapie umbrella ones (I think from walmart) for my older kids and they work okay for quick trips. I don't have a single one anymore, it's essential for us to keep both twins in the double so we can have one parent free to help with the older kids (especially for our 3 yr old). On the rare occasion I have one baby, I just carry them, it's very liberating being able to do that!

that's what we did. they pack flatter, they're quicker to set up and stow away, but they're definitely light on amenities. the grips on the handles are just a little too short for me to be comfortable for an all-day outing (not to mention DH who is 6'3" and doesn't complain, but i know it's not easy on his back).

i like the BRU umbrella strollers and you can't beat the price, but they're definitely not luxury quality. you get what you pay for!
