I am looking into potty chair options and there are sooooooo...... many to pick from. Can anyone give me some ideas on what kind to buy. I have boy/girl twins that will be 2 in Nov. and the love talking about the potty so I plan to start maybe after Christmas. Any other tips would be great also! THanks!

I am sure this isnt the same with everyone but my kids did much better with the actual toilet than they did with the potty chairs.
    Good luck!!!

I got the cheapest potty chairs I could .. nothing fancy, no bells and whistles and they worked out perfectly. :D

I got the cheapest that I could but then went back after a couple of months and got the throne shaped one that sings a tune when they pee. It's so difficult to know when they peed or not because you can't see in the potty and it was well worth the extra $10 to know that they were done with their business.

We too have the cheapest little plastic ones we could find (we have two store-brand ones--one from Walmart and one from BRU). I love them. Hannah STILL prefers to use the "baby potty" at our house. I like that they are simple since she is the one that insists on doing everything (dumping the pee out, rinsing the bowl, etc.). So the fact that that they are uncomplicated is important to us.

We have two of the ones that are potty chairs and then you can take the top off and put it right on the potty and turn the bottom part over and it acts as a step stool to get to the potty. We got them used from my multiples club sale so we paid less than $10 for both of them. We didn't use them as potty chairs for very long. It's much easier and more convenient to just put them onto the toilet. We just keep one in each of the bathrooms of they use most and it's worked out well. This is what we have... http://www.amazon.com/Safety-1st-Potty-Ste...9177156-8580628

Ours is an older version, but basically the same thing.

We have the musical ones and I thought they were great at first. Then they discovered they could put a hand or foot on the sensors and make music. That was all they wanted to do. I shut off the sound for a while... so they found the controls on the bottom and now think it's hilarious to turn the potty over and switch it on and off. It also has a seat piece and a bowl piece and it's an ongoing battle to keep the thing assembled. In my mind, simpler is better. I'd get the two-piece Bjorn in hindsight (because they do like to empty the bowl themselves). We also have potty rings and they like them but I didn't want to have to choose who was going to have to wait to use the potty (and likely not make it).

We have two potty rings. My daughter uses it consistently and whenever my son shows an interest (not often), we run him upstairs if the other bathroom is occupied. I like to think of it as a great form of exercise. Best of luck in whatever you decide. I decided to use the potty rings because truthfully, I had no desire to empty the little pottys and I was going to have to train them to use the regular potty after that anyway.

I bought a 3 in 1 potty but I am now going to get the simple kind with no removable parts. It's a nightmare with the removable part kind all they want to do is throw the parts all over the house and forget it if you try to put it back together so they can actually use the thing.

Someone gave us a Sesame Street potty for the twins' birthday. I got it out yesterday, but decided to return it to the store. I didn't really like how you had to take the top off in order to empty out the "bucket" & it stuck a little.....I could just see myself spilling pee all over. I'm thinking of getting one of the Baby Bjorn's instead - and they're the same price!
