Ladies, I need help. We are having b/g twins in August and are all set on the boy's name and the girl's middle name.

Alexander Ellis (Ellis is a family name)

    and

_____ Charlotte (Charlotte is also a fam name, we have reasons we can't use as a first name)

We can NOT seem to settle on a girl's name and it's been 6 months now! My hubby is SUPER picky. Right now, the only 2 names that we both like are:

    Isabella
    Giselle

I will not pollute the waters by telling what I think are the pro's/con's for each - waiting to hear what y'all think.

    TIA!

How many syllables is your last name?

I like Isabella but that could be a really big name if you have a long last name.

I like Isabella - but I don't like it with Charlotte...

    Any other options?

I like Isabella/Izzy (that's my nieces name) so I'm bias there.

    Alexander Ellis

    and

    Alexa/Lexa Charlotte
    Alexis/Lexi Charlotte
    Alexandria/Xandria Charlotte

Congratulations and good luck picking a name you both like. Been there, done that! :catfight: We thought we were settled on names until the day they were born and the "Baby B's name" went from Kiely to Baily. :rotflmbo: :rotflmbo:

    I love Giselle.

Would you pronounce it with a Spanish G or an English G, it's actually a fairly common name in Mexico (pronounced He-sell).

My vote is for Isabella. Giselle Charlotte does not flow well imo. Isabella however is a very popular name right now- if you dont mind that.

Thank you ladies! I am torn because I'm really in love with Isabella but it was one of the most popular names of 2008 which turns me off.

I have both an Alexander and an Isabella, they aren't twins. We call ours exclusively Ella though (my husband is not the single biggest fan of Isabella, the name, he adores Isabella the girl!), so I even tend to forget that her name is Isabella... Alexander is always Alex unless I am yelling!
I really like how Alex and Ella (or even Izzie) flow together and I am nor sure Giselle flows that well... BUT I do really like Giselle ("Elle").

How about a medium in Gisella? It flows better with Charlotte and it is cute and a tad more unique if you are going for that.

I like Giselle, but it does make me think of the movie "Enchanted". Although I do really love the movie.

I LOVE Giselle. It makes me think of a young Darci Kistler dancing that beautiful role to perfection for the New York City Ballet!

And Isabella is in the top five baby names so you can be sure your daughter will end up with a nickname so as not to be confused with the other Isabellas in her class. How do you feel about: Izzy? Bell? Bella? Ella? Elle? If you don't like the shortenings then don't pick the name. (This is how I ultimately decided against my absolute favorite name for a girl - Juniper! I love Juniper but hate June and Junie, so we are going with Molly instead!)

Love the boy name! I have an Alex too! (Notice he is 2.5 and already called Alex, not Alexander - and I escaped the "Xander" nickname by the skin of my teeth!)

My grandfather's name was Alexander but he always went by Sandy.

You can also use Alec for a short form.

I like Isabella but agree you need to decide on a nickname. Especially because her brother may have problems pronouncing it!

I like Giselle! You don't hear it near as often as Isabella.
