which kind of monitor?

I would like to buy a monitor for the babies. I am debating between a video monitor, or the monitor that detects movement. Any thoughts on making the decision? (I know that if I would get the movement monitor, I would need two.) Which kind were you happy with, and also, which brand is the best?

I have borrowed my sister's Summer brand sound/video monitor. I liked it. It's sold at BRU. The picture is on a small monitor and you can buy additional receptors.
As for a regular monitor we use Fisher-Price Sound and Lights and it works great for us.

 

I saw an ad for a monitor that lets you talk back to the baby....I love the idea of that. That said, you are already 3 mos. in, not sure I would go angelcare because of the $$$ and you have already made it 3 mos.

The video one would be my first choice if I were doing it over!

 

video monitor all the way!!!!! we have the summer infant one, and it has prevented us from getting up over and over to check on them....now they are in separate cribs and so I just bought an extra camera and just toggle back and forth between camera A and B on the monitor to check them if I hear something.....

 

Ditto on the Summer video - we just got two - have one permanently on A and one on B - love that they have two stations and that they are labled A and B - perfect for us twin mommies....

 

I have the video monitor (Safety 1st) and I love it! It is my own reality show!! ha ha
For trips, I bought a basic sound monitor with two recievers.
