    Hi Ladies,

I am looking at getting some highchair boosters for the kiddies as we're getting ready to explore the world of solids ;)

BRU is having a sale on different kinds and I am torn and wanted your advice:

Please take a look at tell me your experiences:

The 3rd link didn't work for me but we used the First Years feeding seats and liked them a lot. They reclined well for them when they were small and still work as boosters now.

We had the space savers and loved them as babies because they were comfy and could recline. We used them even when they were 2 mos for something different to sit in. We just bought your second link - the Fisher Price about a two months ago. We LOVE them! Below are reasons why we switched.

Fisher Price Space Savers (have not loved them since they were sitting up straight and here is why)
    1. Don't fit under our table and the handles do not come off (we have a tiny house so they just felt cumbersome.)
    2. A mess of food is always hiding under the chair padding. Comes off easy but past being little babies, don't think needed for comfort.
    3. Bulky enough not to be able to travel with.
    4. It took up our whole chair, so their feet dangled.

    Fisher price boosters
    1. Lightweight and easy to travel with if you really need to - we took them to paint your pottery and it was great...would be easy to take to a restaurant if you knew there wouldn't be high chairs or on a trip.
    2. The back folds down and they slide easily under the table - so hidden when not using which is huge for us.
    3. Easy to clean (so were the others, just the extra piece that you don't have to use was a pain)
    4. When they sit in them their feet rest on part of the chair instead of dangling.

We originally got the space savers because they looked so comfy, and it is true that they eventually form into just booster seats, but you may find you will want to change down the line if you travel a lot or need them to be more minimal. The comfort factor means nothing to us as it turns out. They get in those chairs, get their eating taken care of, then out again...LOL. They could care less. At 5 mos, I don't know how well yours are sitting up so that is what makes your decision a little tougher probably. Mine were about 6 mos when they could have handled the second link (boosters). In the end, maybe you start bigger and downsize. I will say one thing, if you get the one on the second link make sure you spring for the adjustable height one - I accidentally picked up the more economy one with no height adjustments...their chins came to the table - HA HA. I paid the extra 5 bucks and exchanged them. :)

Lastly, at least here in Denver they run about $7.00 more at babiesrus and toyrus - the coupon didn't even make up the difference from other stores. I would buy them at Target or Walmart.

We bought something similar to your first option, they are safety 1st ones, and they are very cheaply made and I'm not really happy with them. Fortunately we bought them to keep in the truck for those times when there aren't enough highchairs at places, so we don't use them all the time.

We used Graco Contempo highchairs up until recently, I love them, clean up great, roll around great, fold up tiny for when not in use! We just recently switched to Graco toddler booster seats so we can pull them right up to the table with us. We have a very small dining room and i was getting tired of tripping over 2 high chairs! I love love love these new booster seats and am seriously considering getting 2 more to keep in the truck instead of the other ones we have! They are so easy to clean, no real crevices for food to get stuck in, they have a 2 position back for them to "grow" with, and when they outgrow needing the straps, you can use it without as a regular toodler booster! Fits under my table great!

I don't regret getting our contempo high chairs, i love them, have a great recline (we used them from about 6 wks and up), 6 position height adjustment, 5 pt harness, removable tray insert that's dishwasher safe...and I love that it folds up super slim (just 8 inch wide I think) when I don't need it. But I'm thrilled with our new boosters seats as the next step!

I put the FP Healthy Care boosters on my baby registry and got both of them. Then when the boys were around 6 months old I tried one of those chairs out...and hated it. Mainly because the boys were still learning to eat solids (which is frustrating enough) and the booster wouldn't tilt back at all, so I was constantly trying to feed them with their head leaning forward. I ended up ordering 2 FP Space Saver boosters instead, and we LOVE them! I have no complaints about them at all. I ended up taking the second unopened FP Healthy Care booster back to Target for $30 of store credit. And since then I've bought 2 used FP Healthy Care boosters for $10 each on Craigslist, ha. That is because we need to keep a set of chairs at my parents for when the boys stay there, as well as have something at the in-laws. Now that the boys are older and can sit up straight it's not quite an ordeal to feed them in those chairs, so I don't mind using them occasionally while visiting relatives (I still wouldn't use them everyday though). For every day use I highly recommend the FP Space Saver booster, and for occasional use I recommend the FP Healthy Care booster :) I see the latter on Craigslist fairly frequently for only $10. And I see the FP Space Saver on CL for $20-25.

I fed mine in the bouncy seats until they were eating pretty well then at about 7 mos moved to the reclining high chairs I already had. When they turned one, we moved to standard plastic boosters with buckles that didn't recline. What I loved about mine was that I could take it apart and put it in the dishwasher. If you can find one that will do that but also reclines, you can skip high chairs all together! I agree that until they are sitting very solidly on their own, it will be difficult to feed them if they aren't reclined a bit.

We have the IKEA Antilop highchairs (and tray). They've been great, actually, although I never leave the kids unattended since the safety belt is really basic (not a good idea with any highchair, anyway). Cheap and easy to clean!

    You'll enjoy this-as I have all three...and here's my take:

1.) NO! I have something similar-by the same brand-and it's AWFUL! Super duper cheap and just total cr@p. Save your money.

2.) I have two of these...and we LOVE them. But-these aren't used everyday in our home, or I should say weren't used. We bought these to take to our parents homes, out to dinner, family gatherings elsewhere, etc. I HIGHLY recommend them for those types of scenarios. We eat dinner at my parents once/week, and dh's parents once/week, and these were AWESOME to have. They never left our car. So if we went out to dinner, we had them-vs two high chairs at a table meant for one high chair(we ran into this problem a few times). Not to mention they sat inside the booth, so hardly ANY food was on the ground(it was all on their tray), no one could touch them, and no hot items could be spilled on them. LOVE LOVE LOVE them! And then, when the boys outgrew the highchairs we had, we used them for everyday use(and bought the cheap ones like #1 for grandparents, etc). And we still have them-2+ years later... Oh-and they are EASY to clean!

3.) We bought this when we had Annabella. And I wish we bought two for the boys-for everyday use. Instead we had two giant high chairs that took up a ton of space. I like the Space Saver high chair. It's smaller than a regular high chair and takes up less room. I can put it under the table like a regular chair, and not have it jetting out. I don't have the problem of it not fitting under the table like a pp. But if you do decide to get it, bring it home and see if it fits, and if not, you can always return it. My issue, and same with regular high chairs, is the covering can't be washed. Who designs this stuff? Clearly people who had spotless toddlers, which I find hard to believe!

So-there's my .02 about your seats! Good luck deciding!

I use Stokke's which I absolutely love and we still use (my twins are still sitting in them at age 3 1/2). The oldest chair is 5 1/2 years old, and looks almost new still!

I also had the FP boosters for traveling and my parents' house! Highly recommend them too!

we have a pair of evenflo expressions plus high chairs and that's what we've been using from the start. it was easier to have high chairs in the kitchen because i didn't want to do boosters at the dining table and have to clean food off of the rug every day.

we've just transitioned them to the family table to eat their meals with us, and we went with the fisher price healthy care deluxe booster. we previously bought a pair of those to keep at their grandpa's house for visits and we really like them. just be aware that the deluxe version has height adjustment and the non-deluxe version doesn't. so make sure you're getting the one you want.

We use Fisher Price space savers and we love them! We don't have a lot of room with 5 kids so this saves us some space!

Actually the coverings of the Space Savers can be washed on cold/delicate - tumble dried low. Sorry to be a smarty...that's what our tags say - maybe in previous models you couldn't. I still hated that food was always collecting underneath...ewwwww. :pardon:
