The Dr told us yesterday at their 6 mo checkup that, since they are gaining weight and eating so well, the boys do not need to be on Enfamil Enfacare (preemie) formula any longer. Yipee!!! Now to the world of regular formula....

    what do you all use?

My guys are good....one is a happy spitter who gets rice cereal in all of his bottles, the other is fine with anything. Wondering if I should stick w/Enfamil and get their Infant Premium Lipil, or go to something like Gerber Good Start. Want to stick with something that has frequent coupons :)

It really will sometimes just depend on the babies and their reaction to formula. But after switching off the higher calorie formula we went to regular Enfamil. But the cost was crazy high and after talking their ped and a few other moms, we decided to try the store brand of the Enfamil. It worked great for us and we got to save a few bucks!

But I will say that with whatever formula you decide to switch to, you might was to do it gradually so the switch doesn't upset their stomachs.

    Good luck!

I am still pumping and breastfeeding my twins but we also have to give them formula. We started with Similac, but that made them really constipated from the begining so we switched to Enfamil. Enfamil made them constipated as well. So afer giving it about a month for their bodies to adjust and noticing no improvement, we swithced to Good Start wich is much better for them, they don't have the constipation any more. Also my twins used to spit more with the other formulas, now with Good Start they aren't spitting any more. Of course it may be because they outgrew whatever was making them spit as well... As far as coupons, Enfamil has more coupons and you can buy it in Costco or Sam's - but not the Good Start, they don't sell that one.

I think each baby reacts differently and I hope you can find what is best for yours. If they were ok on the Enfamil preemie formula, maybe regular Enfamil will be fine with them as well. After trying all theese kinds of formula I can tell you that Good Start tastes like regular milk, as oposed to Similac and Enfamil who have somewhat of a medicinal taste. ( Yes, I tasted all formulas :))

We are on ebm and good start protectplus. Yes I smelled and tasted all formula. Similax advanced and enfamil lipil smell bad. Good start smells nearly nothing.my girl used to have reflux. After we switched her from alimentum to similac advanced she puked instantly. She is happy with good start.I don't know if its the formula or she grew out of it. I guess both.
I also heard walmart brand taste is close to breast milk. But we never tried it.

Feeding can be such a tough issue! We started with Similac and then switched to Enfamil Premium.. we have had no problems... other than the major cost!!! We recently switched to a store brand... did a lot of research into it and found that all baby formula's are FDA regulated. We now will occasionally switch back and forth between enfamil and store brand... CVS has been wonderful.. I actually got 2 large containers the other day for 19 dollars total. That would've been more than 40 dollars for that much Enfamil formula.. It took a lot of guts for me to rationalize switching to a store brand.. I always see Gerber Good Start coupons.. honestly think many of them are about the same thing... just my opinion :)

We used Similac Sensitive for months, and even with the coupons, it was outrageous. We finally decided to get Target brand sensitive. The girls had a little constipation at first, but our ped said to give it a week. Now their handling it well and we're saving tons of money.

Why my 29 weeker DD was OK'd to go off the Enfacare we were ecstatic to save some bucks! We transtitioned her to Target brands Up & Up "regualar" formula. It should say "compare to Enfamil Lipil" on the can. My twin 31 weekers I put on the Gentle Target brand (It's the Up & Up, as well) it will say "compare to Enfamil's Gentlease". If you have a Sam's, their formula is made at the same manufacturer, and it is an UNBELIEVABLE savings. $19.98 for 3 POUNDS!!!! They too have regular, gentle, and soy!! I buy there when my parents go to Sam's...

We loved Goodstart protect plus, we switched from the enfacare at 3months and had no problems with the goodstart, it actually helped with gas issues!
