    Hello,

I'm new to Twinstuff and expecting twins in 2 weeks. I'm so overwhelmed with the bottle options I'm looking for guidance from those who have "been there, done that."

With my first daughter, we used Dr. Browns successfully (kinda a pain the butt to clean but worth it when she stopped having gas pains). With the twins, at first, I planned on using Dr. Browns again (because I have so many bottles from my first and all new nipples), but then I keep hearing about using Playtex Nursers because it's so much easier with twins (less clean up, easier to prepare, etc.). I don't know...I'm so confused--any advise from you all experience new twin Momma's??

    Thanks sooooooo much!

A lot of people use Dr. Browns. I used Avent and Playtex Vent Aire and like them. I pretty much owned a few of every kind and the boys decided which ones they liked and which ones they didn't. Luckily that changed over the months and they all got used. It drove my DH crazy to have so many different kinds! I would start with Dr. Browns and see how it goes.

I use Avent. I love that they are sort of wide, it seems easier for my girls to hold them(you won't have to worry about that for awhile). Also since they are wide they are a bit easier to clean. I tried Playtex nursers, but my daughters didnt like the nipple. I guess it's just personal preference. Good Luck!

We've used Born Free from the beginning and had great success with them. They have an extra part in the middle that you must take apart to clean but if you are used to Dr. Brown's you won't think twice about these bottles. Good luck!

We use Dr. Browns - mostly since they started on those in the NICU. I tried different ones but they just would have anything to do with anything but the Dr. Browns.

Anothe Avent vote here. We were planning on the Playtex Dropins but opted against anything with added pieces (thus nixing the Dr. Browns for us). The girls have had severe reflux and one had colic. We noticed a marked difference in their behaviour upon the switch.

Naomi and Luke had the Dr Browns because Luke had reflux. The older girls and E & E had/have Avent.
Honestly I think they will be fine with whatever you give them (they're not going to know any different after all). If you're ok with cleaning the Dr Browns then stick with those because you have them already.

i too would just stick with the dr. browns since you have them. i tried to use the playtex drop ins in the beginning but my DH didn't like them because he couldn't easily tell how much formula they had drunk (he is an engineer and very anal retentive.. [IMG] ). ultimately we ended up using dr. browns for DD and avent for DS.

We started with the Playtex nursers, but my girls didn't like the wide nipples. We switched to Dr. Browns and they were fine with them. I didn't like to clean them and they leaked if you travel with them and they don't stay upright. Other than that, they were fine. As they got older, we tried a couple of the cheap Gerber ones and they loved them. I think because they were square shaped, they were easier for them to hold. I think it really depends on the baby. If you already have the Dr. Browns, then use them. Why go buy more bottles if you don't have to?

I bought one or two of several different brands and just tried them all to see which worked best. Mine did the best with the MAM bottles. I loved them.

We use the Dr. Browns, great bottles. Just a lot of pieces for clean-up for twins yes, but once they start taking fewer bottles per day you won't notice.

We use the Playtex Ventaire and the Dr. Browns... we were originally going to use the Playtex drop-ins system but they hated the wider nipples. :/

Playtex dropins here, and I never gave my kids a choice about it! They may not have liked the nipples but when they got hungry enough, they'd eat it! :p

Love that I can just rinse the bottle, toss the liner and only wash nipples and rings once a day! :D

I have 14 weeks old twins and we use the playtex vent air and are just trying the dr brown's. the twins seem to like both of them equally. the pieces to clean are almost equal too. i would stick with dr brown's if you already have them.

We use Dr. Brown's here too. The peices aren't so bad if you toss them in the dishwasher. We started with Avent, but they leaked like crazy and our son had really bad gas with them. I know others who have loved them though!

We have Avent and Dr. Brown's (wide ones). We love them both but sometimes the Avent are a pain because you have to do the "leak" test - for some reason you have to have that lid on perfectly or you could lose a half ounce with one suck - annoying. Girls like both - noticed a huge difference in gas in my colicky one after switching to these from playtex, but every baby is different. I would echo others and go with Dr. Brown's if you have them.

:welcome: to TS. Congrats on your pregnancy. We used Dr. Browns with the boys and were very happy with them.
