When we started whole milk we started using sippy cups (we had been practicing with water in them for a while). I would suggest doing this if you can b/c you won't have to break them from taking the bottle later. HTH [IMG]

I used the same bottles we had always been using when we switched to milk. This is also the time we started a gradual move to sippies as well. I'm not familiar with Dr. Browns, but I think that the transition will be easier if you stick with their same bottles. Good luck.

We also never gave milk in a bottle. The day we stopped formula, we stopped bottles.

I agree with pps, if you are going to switch to a different bottle, you might as well just switch to the sippies and be done with it. I had to switch my now 2yr old to a cup starting at 9mos in anticipation of the twins coming and found that the Gerber cups with the soft blue spouts were the best. I think anything with a soft spout will be better than a hard spout for the initial transition. Once he was off all bottles for about a month I switched to the hard spout sippies. I did the same with the twins. GL!

I used Dr. Browns until milk too. I switched them straight to a sippy cup when we went to milk so I never bought any other kind of bottle.

They will eventually take it out of the cup and they don't have to drink a lot of milk out of the cup during the early transition time. Just give them lots of cheese, yogurt, and other dairy products. Offer milk in a sippy most of the day and they should get enough. It really was pretty easy to transition, they eventually just started drinking it out of the cup.

I gave them milk in a cup before bed but I also gave them some dry cheerios or something with it since they wouldn't take as much out of the cup at first.

At first we continued to use their Avent bottles when we gave them milk. Then we switched them over to Playtex sippies.

We never used bottles for milk, just sippy cups. We didn't start milk until 1 year and that's when bottles are recommended to be stopped so we went right to sippies.
I had them using sippies at meals with water since 8 months anyway. WE never used bottles except right out of the hospital until I had enough milk supply.
I just make sippies for them as needed and only bring water sippies to the store as needed. I am usually not gone long enough for them to have to have anything but water to drink. A freind watched our kids the other night for our date night and I packed 2 sippies of milk.
