Which Bassinet do you recommend?

My husband and I planned on this child sharing a room with our 2 year old. Suprise, twins, and we can't fit 2 babies in his room. SO, we are in our first home...not very 3 kid friendly, so we had to make a plan.
Our (big) bedroom will become the twins room/upstairs play room, once they are 4 months old or so. We will move our stuff to the loft. So we arent creating the twins room until they are older - which is SO scary. But I cant be in a loft, having to go up and down, with babies. NOT happening. So it is what it is.
So we will have the twins sleep with us, in our room, and I need to know what you all used as bassinets, if you used them. With my first child, I had one bassinet next to the bed, and it was great, but he got big quick, and was into his crib by 2.5 months I think.
Has anyone used something that worked great...do I have to get two bassinets? Is there something I could get that they could share for awhile, like the arms reach co sleeper thing?
I have searched Babies R Us, but its hard to choose. I need something to last, that isnt huge, but they wont grow out of.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated! I have pack and plays, but those are too difficult to get babies in and out of at night I think!
    Thanks Sarah

I'm starting to look for a bassinet or Moses basket, too, but am having trouble finding anything geared toward two babies -- so I'd also love to hear if anyone has found anything appropriate. Thanks!

I bought a cosleeper from Armsreach. I purchased the Orginal size because it started that is was best for twins. It is set up right now next to the bed. My daughter also slept in a bassinet. If you don't have the money just use a regularl pack and play in your bedroom. It is excately the same thin but with all four sides.

I used a pack n play that had a bassinet part that attached in it so you didn't have to reach so far down to pick them up. Mine was a graco and the bassinet weight limit was 25lbs so they stayed in that until they were right around 3 months, after that we took the bassinet part and just used it normal.
It worked perfect for us because their room was upstairs too and we kept it downstairs and in our room.

We just bought two Moses baskets. I got them brand new on eBay for £30.00 (about $25.00) apiece, with bedding, stand and everything. They were GREAT because when the reflux kicked in, we just took them out of the stands, sat them on the floor, and placed a rolled up blanket under the head end of them to elevate the babies while they slept.

I used a PNP for the first few months before we transition them to their crib and it worked great!! :good:

i used the armsreach cosleeper original size. it was great, especially since i had a csection so they were right there next to the bed. they did grow out of it pretty fast though, i guess after about 2.5 months. then i just moved one of their cribs into our room and they slept in there together until they were 4 months. now i use the cosleeper as a pack and play so i think it was worth the $$.

We actually put the crib in our room because our bedroom is a good size with a sitting room. I figured that eventually we would need 2 cribs and was concerned they would grow out of the bassinets early. We'll see how it works.

We had the crib at the end of our bed and both of them slept in it. Later we had both their cribs in our room (they were good night sleepers). I did have a Moses basket that i LOVED and someone mentioned getting one for 30.00 !!! hey that is a great price to spend. Those co-sleepers are expensive aren't they ?? I also have a single PNP which had a change table and a bassinet (no mobile thankfully) which I got for 100.00. I must say that Moses basket and pNP have got so much use. The moses basket was great to transport them up and downstairs plus it was a nap station I could carry anywhere. The pNP was used for a nap station when they were older and is still being used for the change table because it is nice and low and they can't roll off it like a regular change table. MY two are 16 months now !

We just got two bassinets that fit real well right next to our bed. We only have one crib so far, so we're still in search of a good deal on a second!

I never used bassinets. I had a port-a-crib in our room which they never used they preferred their carseat the first two months and bouncer until they went into their own cribs at 3 months, but if that is all you have it can work. I also used a PNP in my living room which they both fit in for awhile.

Thanks ladies. I thought of trying one armsreach co sleeper, at least for a few months, so they are right next to me, and I dont have to go far to fix a pacifier, or rock them...or whatever needs to be done at 3am!
Once they outgrow that, I think I will set up one crib, and put it in our room, and they can share that until we move our bed and stuff upstairs.
    Thanks again! Sarah
