Where to get Preemie onesies?

I want to try to find some preemie onesies at a store, and NOT online if possible, but I'm having a hard time! The Babies R Us by me does not have any - they have some sleepers and little outfits, but no packs of onesies! I also went to Kohl's and nothing.

Also, the Gerber newborn size looks really small - are those about the size of preemie sizes?

Walmart has a lot of preemie things. I am not sure about onesies in the store but you could check.

    Walmart for sure :)
Yup, the Gerber newborn size fit my preemie really well.

eek. Anywhere besides Walmart? I guess if I *have* to go to Walmart for some I will, but I try to avoid it!

I had the most success online - Babies R Us, Amazon.com, and Target

You can return Target.com stuff at the store. I'm not sure about Babies R Us. I actually got tons and tons of very lightly used and unused preemie stuff on Ebay for $40. I ordered it right before going in for my induction and it was ready and washed when the babies came home 7 and 9 days later. Sierra wore preemie clothes for a little over 2 months and Ainsley wore them for 1.5.

We just wore the Carter's NB stuff. They were a little big those first two weeks, but fit fine after that!

I used newborn on my boys and they were born at 3 and 4 lbs and they worked very well. They grow out of the preemie to fast, I would stick with newborn or 0-3m.

    good luck

I'm not sure about onesies, especially if you're looking for a pack of "undershirt" type onesies. I can't remember seeing those in preemie size. I bought a couple of preemie sleepers for my grandsons at Dillard's that were just darling but quite pricey compared to buying at Target or Walmart, especially for something they will wear just a few times. I was surprised with the selection of baby items at Walmart, very nice. I did find packages of 2 sleepers in NB size at Walmart (Gerber perhaps?) that fit the boys great when they were tiny and they washed very well.

I know what you mean about Walmart ... I hate going there and will usually avoid it at all costs, but if you go at an off-time (not on weekends or after work hours) it's bearable!

    Best of luck to you!

We have a few newborn outfits from Baby Gap. Thay are a little pricey, but both of my daughters wore them lots and they still look like new. Hoping they are small enough for the twins. They seemed to be about the same size as the preemie stuff I have from other places.

A friend of ours who adores our daughter found out she needed preemies and she came to the hospital bearing bag after bag from Parisians. She spent more on those than we did for the boys entire wardrobe but they were gorgeous. Luckily or unluckily - however you want to look at it - the boys could wear preemies for about two months - then they skipped 0-3 altogether. Now they are 11 months and wearing 18 month sizes. So much of sizing depends on the brand, etc. I'd grin, bear it and go to Walmart. You just don't get enough wear out of them to purchase too many preemies or spend too much.

I know it's not the cheapest, but www.gapbaby.com has some preemie onesies and styles "up to 7 lbs.". I purchased some onesies from them for my first child, and the quality of them has been very good that each of my others has worn them so far too. They are soft and don't get all stiff feeling in the laundry.

"Just Born" Gerber sized onesies were too big on my preemies but you could make-do depending on how small your kiddos are. Friends of mine got me Gerber Preemie onesies (just plain white) from Target and from BRU. If your BRU doesn't have any, can they call another store and have them shipped to your local store? You can see how big my girls were in my sig and honestly they were in preemie for a long time (6 weeks I think), and NB was just ridiculous huge.
