My girls will be 5 months on Saturday....3months 2 weeks adjusted age. I've found they sleeper better and longer in their swings and bouncies downstairs than they do upstairs in their cribs. I'm thinking of leaving them downstairs for the morning nap and putting them in the crib for the afternoon nap. What do you think? Or does this go against the nap rules??? :)

My girls napped in their swings until they were about 5 or 6 months old. At that point we transitioned them to their cribs. They didn't sleep as well or as long at first, but it didn't take very long for them to get used to napping in their cribs, maybe a few days.

They're 9 1/2 months old now, and one naps in her crib and the other in a pack n play in the guest room. They seem to sleep better during the day if they're separated.

I'm lucky in that once they started napping, they will nap just about anywhere - crib, couch, floor, PNP, and until recently my daughter would still nap in her bouncy - but she's about outgrown that now

Mine are 3 months and sleep any where as long as they are tired. If they aren't ready to nap, it won't happen unless maybe it is in their swings.

Our 11 week old twins nap in the living room in either a pack n play bassinet or swing or papasan chair or bouncy chair. SOmetimes if playing on mat on the floor then they nap there (only when 2 year old is not around as then it is not a safe spot [IMG]) Bedtime is in the crib and they only sleep in crib never play in there. With my first I put her in crib to kick and play a lot and look at mobile AND she was a terrible sleeper. So this time crib is only for nightime sleep and eventually naps.

Our girls (will be 5 months on the 14th, 4 months adjusted but I don't really go by that) nap in their bouncy seats in the living room. I have never really attempted to have them nap in their cribs for a couple reasons - 1. I don't want to be running up and down all day long, 2. they need to be rocked sometimes to go back to sleep and 3. Mia usually wakes up early and needs to be put in her seing which is downstairs.

I guess I will put them in their crib when they drop their 1/2 8:15 nap and just nap at 11 and 2:30...

We always have them sleep in their cribs - nighttime and naps. We had the pnp downstairs for a few weeks, and I didn't like it. I felt like we had to be quiet while they slept. I get a lot of my chores done while they sleep, so it's nice to have them in their bedroom where I can close the door. [IMG]

My girls are almost 6 months old (born at 34 wks). They are still sleeping in swings & bouncy seats. In the last few days I've attempted naps in the PNP. They aren't really napping well, but aren't screaming when I put them in there. We have two trips coming up, & thought it might help to get them more familiar with sleeping in the PNP before the trip. I'm also leaning towards separate beds for nap time. After the holidays, I'm really going to try & get them used to the cribs upstairs for naps. At bedtime, they sleep in the same crib in their room, & have finally (YEAH!!!) slept from about 830pm to 445am two nights in a row!!!!

Mine are 5 months and nap in their swings or the pnp. Our bedroom is large enough for their swings and the pnp. At night they sleep in their cribs in the nusery. I tried naps in the cribs and they lasted about a 1/2 hour. I can get more done during the day in they are in the swings.

Mine nap in swings and sometimes even sleep in their bouncy seats as they have reflux and have to sit in there at least 20 minutes after feeding. Mine are 1 month...adjusted age. I figured whatever I need to do to get some sleep...other than taking them in bed with me...learned a long time ago that was a BIG problem.

My guys are sleeping in their swings for naps. I tried crib naps about a month ago, but they didn't last more than 30 minutes most of the time. Then I just had 2 cranky boys. [IMG] I tried another crib nap this morning, but that only lasted about 30-40 minutes for both.

I really want to get them transitioned to their cribs for naps because they aren't sleeping as well in their swings with my 2 year old running around.

Mine will be 5 months on the 11th of Dec. They nap and sleep in their cribs and have since about 2 months. The ped. recommended that we put the down in the crib everytime so they would relate it to sleeping. We have gone out of town and had to use 2 PNPs and they didn't seem to have a problem with that. Their naps were short in the beginning; however, now they last anywhere form 1 - 2 1/2 hours . . . thank goodness!

Mine are 4 months. Their morning nap is in their crib. For the rest, either in the swing or the PNP. I'm thinking of trying to get all of the naps in their crib because they seem to do better there but I'm afraid that they will start to only sleep in the crib and we'll be screwed if we go somewhere else.

I had our girls nap in their swings until they were about 7 months old (4 months adjusted) and then we put them into their cribs. It was a little of an adjustment, but we did one nap at a time and now they nap 2 times a day 10-12 and then 2-3:30 in their cribs and they are happy kiddos. :)

My boys are 3.5 months, first nap in the a.m. is usually in their car seat/carriers cause they fall asleep while we take 3yr old to daycare (lasts about 1.5 hrs.) Mid-day nap usually on the play mat on my home office floor after they have eaten and burped I put them down to play and they will drift off for 1.5 to 2.5 hours. Evening nap lasts about the same and is in their PNP as I try to feed them about an hour before our dinner time so that I can eat hot food.
