    hey there!

my guys don't really have any place to sit. sometimes i give them snacks and want them to sit down, and it would also be nice for them to have a place to sit when i read them stories during the day, etc. but we really only have our high chairs--and they are no fun!

can anyone recommend a good chair? like an armchair or something? or even something made out of plastic that's sturdy enough for one year old (they are still closer to their adjusted age in size). we have some plastic ones that someone gave us, but they topple over easily. my guys flipped over their bouncies and bumbos early on, btw, so 'sturdy' is the operative word;).

    thanks in advance!

My girls have the Pottery Barn Kids Oversized Anywhere Chair and they absolutely LOVE it!! They are small enough for them to maneuver in and out of, but big enough for me to sit in it! They will definitely last a Long time!

A lot of people seem to love the PBK Anywhere chairs. Personally it galled me to pay that much for something made of foam and cloth -- we bought upholstered chairs with real wood inside for about $90 each. The downside, though, is that the upholstery is not washable -- now that I own them, I can see why people like the PBK chairs with their removable covers. But in any case, the kids love them. It's definitely nice for them to have something their own size to sit in.

I also bought them a wooden table with two little chairs at about 18 months, but the chairs always toppled over when they tried to climb in. They couldn't use them comfortably until they were a lot taller, at least 2.5 or even 3 years.

We have PB-knockoffs that I got at Target. They are super comfy and really cute. They don't eat snacks in them, but they do sit in them and read books or watch videos.

I bought two nice knock-off PBK Anywhere chairs off of Ebay for about $50 each. I think they were called Everywhere chairs :) I felt kind of bad spending so much money on chairs, but luckily my kiddos love them! Just sitting in them and eating a snack or looking at book occupies them long enough for it to be totally worth $50. They're huge though, for a child's chair, in case space is an issue.
I also have a few $10 plastic chairs from The Container Store that my kiddos like too, but not as much as the PBK knock offs.
I noticed BRU online seems to have a lot of cute chairs too.

I use a foam couch as well, from Babies'r Us (it was 50% off on Black Friday!). They love it, and they've learned how to get down from it without getting hurt, too.

I've heard tons of great things about the PBK Anywhere Chairs. I'll be watching for more good suggestions. :)

looks like they are "on sale" online for around 90 bucks each (the least exp ones)! and that doesn't include shipping, etc... are they really worth it? they ARE adorable!

I think they are worth every penny! I sit in them sometimes as well, so its not as if they are going to grow out of them anytime soon. I Love that I can take the covers off and wash them when necessary as well. We have two of the little foam couches at my IL's house and my girls like those one's nearly as much.

I'm so glad you started this thread. We skipped the PBK chairs at birthday/Christmas time and I've been kicking myself ever since. I've been eying these knock offs from Wal-mart and these from Amazon, but the washable covers on the PBK ones still have me waiting. I do think a trip to IKEA may be in order for a kids table/chairs set though.

ETA: I just started searching again and came across this Sew Posh Boutique. I got there through ebay to her blog then to the site, but somewhere in there it says shes a mom of twin girls. Her stuff is adorable. On ebay she has the covers listed unpersonalized for $15 too. Hmmmm....

I've been following this thread because I've been starting to wonder about it as well. Poor little Karina has been forced to try to sit on an ice cream bucket (they use it as a toy) because there is no place else the right size for her to sit. Poor kid. Anyway, I just can't fathom spending that kind of money on the PBK chairs as much as I think we'd all love them. So I went looking for something similar that does not have Dora or Spiderman on it and I found this. It doesn't have a washable cover, but the price is right and it's cute. For the cost of a PBK chair, I could replace this one 3 times if I need to.

I think that is a doll chair. Here are the shipping dimensions: 7 inches length x 7 inches width x 7 inches height

You know what? I think you are right. Just after posting it, I saw the dimensions too. I was just coming back to make that comment. Good thing I looked a little closer before order. It is super cute though. :)

oh no, what a bummer that it's a doll chair!

i am not that excited about paying $100 for a chair, either, but i figure they will last a long time. and, i was telling dh they need some of their own furniture--not just ours!.... looks like we can't go today, so it'll be another two weeks before we do, but i'm still feeling like these chairs will be worth it in the end.
